I'm sorry to hear of the shabby treatment you apparently received at the hands of U.S. government officials charged with responsibility for immigration matters. I agree that immigration lawyers should speak out frequently; but truth be told, our messaging tends to fall on deaf ears because of a perceived self interest. All the better would be a resounding chorus of foreign governments, world media, and grass roots proponents of equitable immigration laws, procedures and oversight. Thank you for writing. I regret that American officials had a hand in your decision to take your contributions elsewhere.

Hear hear..A loud and clear note of dissent from an immigration attorney who has detailed specific problems with the system of visa applications, and appears to have the best interests of his clients at heart. I would like to see more pressure from immigration attorneys on the Government to put immigration law and visa decisions into the hands of competent individuals. When I was wrongfully refused embarkation on a cruise, and presented the legal reasons why it was legitimate for me to leave on the cruise and return thereafter, I was told that it was ""äbove my paycheck""(to understand the law in that amount of detail) by the CBP official! Having spent 6 years in the USA in legal non immigrant status, created jobs, improved company profitability, educated nurses, taught science classes and been rewarded by being treated worse than an illegal alien...My husband and I are foreclosing our home due to visa refusal and heading back to the UK with our Master's degrees and expertise..maybe we will return in the future when it seems less xenophobic, more fair & USCIS personnel have expanded capacity to do their jobs properly.
