I think AVVO has value but only if our colleagues stop providing free legal advise and simply adviser the poster to seek competent legal counsel to resolve his/her issues in a line or two as you so noted..Nice blog I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed surfing around your blog posts.

    Utterly pent content material

How many days to I have to appeal a denial of my application?? can you expect the lawyers on Avvo to provide you with an answer online. I try to limit my answers to a sentence or two, and provide a link to a legal guide where possible, in order to allow the person who asked the question to read more about the subject of their question.getting free immigrationI hope it reaches your targetted audience. all the best thank you

Please adjudicate citizenship for people who have worked hard and have loved this country with a bit of suffering and a lot of passion too who are unique cases and unique people.
Who are no supermodels outside, but supermoms, supergood people, students, professors, teachers, who have left great prints yet to be read or seen or archived on this land
There probably should be an immigration clause for citizenship adjudication for people who come to this country and just want to stay here with great morals and amazing gifts. Just like that. Could they do that? or they should apply for specific existing visas and sections???
Why can't someone who visits the United States, loves it so much they don't want to leave, so there would be a visa for this type of people immigrating for the love of the country and of course be able to prove it.

What a ludicrous (for not saying stupid) post: who cares if that Italian model has become a US Citizen? Moreover, what's the relevance of this article in regards to the immigration agenda?

i have met and spoken to Marco Rubio. I think he would be fair. As a former INS official, I am not concerned with your ability to make a living off of immigrants. I do believe in the Dream Act and an agricultural worker program. I believe that illegal alien students who live in a state should get in-state tuition. I believe your ultra pro immigration stance harms efforts for some immigration reform. You make no effort to get the truth out about the changes in the immigrant community. For example, almost all immigrants are now paid by check, not in cash (under the table). Sure, they may use counterfeit cards, but they are paid by check. That means money is withheld for taxes, social security, etc. They pay rent, which means they indirectly pay property taxes. If a right wing republican, like me, can figure this out - why aren't the advocates of immigration reform shouting it?

I was the director of the Fresno immigration office for 27 years. I supervised both enforcement and benefits. I know from experience that 70% of all legal immigrants would never have qualified if they (or their petitioner) had not first violated our immigration laws. Why don't you point out that very few people really immigrated the "right way?"

"Opponents of raising the H-1B cap should remember that until 1991, there was no cap of the number of H-1B visas, and yet there was virtually no criticism of the program in Congress."

Lawyers should remember that there was no cap on H-1B visas prior to 1991 because there were no H-1B visas prior to 1991.

The reason for the H-1B caps, is that "[U[nwarranted administrative expansion of the statutory terms in the H-1 category has resulted in a labor impact necessitating a limitation on those admissions. "

2 Igor I. Kavass, Bernard D. Reams, Jr., The Immigration Act of 1990: A Legislative History of Pub. L. No. 101-649 68

The Congressional criticism of the prior H-1 program was scathing.

I doubt the benefits offered will reach 4.5 million. I believe that most illegal aliens who did not come here as children will not qualify. Having worked as an immigration officer for 39 years, I don't believe there are large numbers of adults who have citizen or legal alien children here. What is really needed is for Congress to re-institute Section 245i. That is unlikely, so the President could have offered "parole-in-place" and solved the primary problem many immigrants face. Instead of a work permit, tens of thousands could immigrate and escape the penalty faced with leaving the U.S. to get an immigrant visa in Ciudad Juarez. Hispanic will eventually ask: "Where's the beef?" The Executive Order lacks meaningful benefits for illegal aliens.

Mr. Obama has done something damaging, not something to celebrate. By acting alone, he has destroyed ANY CHANCE for a long term change in the law to fix the problem. And the gamble there is that, if the Republicans win it all in 2017, which they very well may, then suddenly it will be a massive legislative turn against the undocumented. It is likely that all the deferrals will be pulled, and those who registered would be sent home. Obama should have kept using political pressure on the issue until the GOP felt comfortable enough to do a deal.
