Keep complaining, Roger if it makes you feel as if you are doing something about Trump and the republican controlled congress. But the truth is that they aren't listening to you or to any other liberal dissenters. You have no power to impose your views.

If you and the like minded dems want to accomplish something, you should start thinking of ways that we can work with them. This situation reminds me of something I read about Bullmastiffs when I had a 90-pound Bulmastiff puppy. You can't FORCE them to do anything, but be nice to them and they will want to do what you ask of them. It might work with Trump and the republican congress too.

Unless I am mistaken, Trump's administration is still accepting DACA applications, something that his Alt-Right and KKK supporters are not so happy about.

But if Trump winds up making a deal on DACA, which might not be out of the question based on his own statements. that would be an exception to his war on non-white immigrants, the latest example of which we saw today in his seven country Muslim immigrant ban and "temporary" ban (which of course can be and no doubt will be extended) on all refugees, regardless of religion.

This goes against every principle, every value, every ideal that this country was founded on.

It is also a major step backward from the system of tolerance and equality for immigrants from every part of the world, without regard to race, religion or skin color that we have had for the past half century, back toward the Nordics-only system of legalized bigotry that was embodied in the 1924 Johnson-Reed Immigration Act signed by Calvin Coolidge.

Will Trump's next executive diktat be to abolish the Statue of Liberty?

All too many people buried their heads in the sand during the campaign and refused to take Trump seriously.

They are now finding out that he meant what he said. There was a certain German politician whom no one took seriously either - eight decades ago.

He also meant what he said.

"None of President Trump’s first 3 executive orders concern the DACA program."

You are wrong. I explain in the article I wrote about the interior enforcement executive order for the Hill. It hasn't been published yet.

Basically, he says you can't enforce the law properly if you carve out exemptions for groups or categories. He is going to enforce it against all removable aliens. I think Roger is the only citizen he is going to deport.

Please adjudicate citizenship for people who have worked hard and have loved this country with a bit of suffering and a lot of passion too who are unique cases and unique people.
Who are no supermodels outside, but supermoms, supergood people, students, professors, teachers, who have left great prints yet to be read or seen or archived on this land
There probably should be an immigration clause for citizenship adjudication for people who come to this country and just want to stay here with great morals and amazing gifts. Just like that. Could they do that? or they should apply for specific existing visas and sections???
Why can't someone who visits the United States, loves it so much they don't want to leave, so there would be a visa for this type of people immigrating for the love of the country and of course be able to prove it.

What a ludicrous (for not saying stupid) post: who cares if that Italian model has become a US Citizen? Moreover, what's the relevance of this article in regards to the immigration agenda?

i have met and spoken to Marco Rubio. I think he would be fair. As a former INS official, I am not concerned with your ability to make a living off of immigrants. I do believe in the Dream Act and an agricultural worker program. I believe that illegal alien students who live in a state should get in-state tuition. I believe your ultra pro immigration stance harms efforts for some immigration reform. You make no effort to get the truth out about the changes in the immigrant community. For example, almost all immigrants are now paid by check, not in cash (under the table). Sure, they may use counterfeit cards, but they are paid by check. That means money is withheld for taxes, social security, etc. They pay rent, which means they indirectly pay property taxes. If a right wing republican, like me, can figure this out - why aren't the advocates of immigration reform shouting it?

I was the director of the Fresno immigration office for 27 years. I supervised both enforcement and benefits. I know from experience that 70% of all legal immigrants would never have qualified if they (or their petitioner) had not first violated our immigration laws. Why don't you point out that very few people really immigrated the "right way?"
