Without the FOIA, the government could plausible spy on any of its citizens, which would be a violation of the constitution. The rights of america's citizens are central to the strength of the country, and the FOIA's protection of these rights is more important than ever today.

I agree! The freedom of information act is a blessing on the United States. IF the government can be allowed to track information about people without their knowing it, that is the first step toward an authoritarian state that controls its people.
