It appears as though the humanitarian branch of the Arizona Republican Party has found their next target for deportation: United States citizen children.
It has been reported that Arizona Republicans intend to introduce legislation this fall that will deny birth certificates to children born in the United States with parents who are not United States citizens. Simply ridiculous.

Matthew, as always, I join you in congratulations on the fine legal work before the Supreme Court. I am convinced that the Court is a little tired waiting around for Congress to "fix" the "broken system," and it is going ahead full speed to interpret the laws with a bit more sense -- particularly with regard to the criminal laws -- I don't think EOIR comes close to understanding how to interpret the application of immigration laws to criminal laws. Hopefully, our next look will be at "distribution" of drugs which is held by the BIA to equal "illicit trafficking." We know that not all distribution is categorically "trafficking," so maybe that is next on board.
