It has been reported that yesterday Bolywood star Shah Rukh Khan was detained and held for over two hours by U.S. immigration officials. He arrived in New York from India by private jet for the purpose of addressing students at Yale University.
According to Wikipedia, Khan is commonly referred to as the "King of Bollywood." He has been credited with over 70 Hindi films, winning fourteen Filmfare Awards, and thirty nominations, sharing the record for the highest number of Best Actor awards. In 2005, the Government of India honored Khan with the Padma Shri for his contributions towards Indian cinema.
Khan was accompanied by Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of the Dhirubhai Ambani International School. She was not detained.
Khan commented: “Whenever I start feeling too arrogant about myself I always take a trip to America. The immigration guys kicked the star out of stardom,” Sarcastially he remarked that next time he will tell immigration officials that he is white.

Oh come on, its just 2 hours detention. The officials are doing their jobs for any possible threat even if you are black or white or Asian. Even if you are popular you are still human and you are still following the law. :)

shame to see dezeen padenring to the media circus surrounding this. and shame to the artist too for allowing western media to stir up hysteria and continue the scaremongering deliberate alienation that has become the trend of any reportage it seems eminating from China. Shame also to see you guys all lapping this up without a moments reconsideration.

You never know who is in your neighborhood. Take a look at the sex rreistgy that is provided free. You might be surprised who your neighbor is or who is on it. Just go to you local sheriffs office website or state police site. There will be a link. I have found old class mates on their. Cousins, ex deacons I knew. You can even send in information about them. Of course you might become paranoid after looking at it.

If he was detained, I'm sure that the US immigrant officials had their reason. They're just doing their job to make sure that their country is safe from any possible threat.
