A lawsuit has been filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia challenging the constitutionality of Senate rules that require 60 votes on motions to proceed with or close debate on proposed amendments, because they are inconsistent with majority rule. This is commonly referred to as a filibuster, and it is the procedure that resulted in the failure of the DREAM Act being brought up for a vote during the previous lame duck session.
Vice President Joe Biden, in his official capacity as President of the United States Senate, is the principle defendant to the lawsuit.

I find it odd that in America an immigrant, legal or illagel, can get services from hospitals and things from schools and other institutions such that natural born US citizens cannot! My good friend almost died because of that rationale and is lucky to be alive today! He had no health insurance just like most immigrants but he was unfortunate, he was born in the USA. That was his ONLY crime! I was born in the USA, served 23 years in the US Army (and retired) and the DREAM Act makes me feel my loyalty was totally misplaced. I'm sure what congress wants is for me to be ashamed to call myself an American! They're winning!
