"Bottom line: vote Gary Johnson for President in 2012"? Really? Former GOP?! Ick. How 'bout Rocky Anderson! He's actually got principles, not just lip service.

http://www.voterocky.org/immigration_solution

"Rocky Anderson received the first-ever Profile in Courage Award from the League of United Latin American Citizens (the largest Latino organization in the U.S.) and the Presidential Award from the National Association of Hispanic Publications."

-and-

"In addition, to enhance our nation’s global competitive edge, the rules and regulations for highly skilled immigrant workers should be BETTER tailored to U.S. economic needs." [emphasis mine]

I support immigrant rights, but I think it is sad that the AILA is supporting OVERLY broad legislation that will actually hurt (via no wage protections or meaningful [any?] corporate restrictions on abuse) American, STEM-based professionals. To use your words: "Not exactly my idea of what constitutes 'smart' immigration enforcement, unless you define 'smart' as idiotic and wasteful."

I'd replace "enforcement" with "legislation" here, but you get the point.

I caught a series of typos, and ninja edited my post. Sorry for the sloppiness.
