They should be asked to depart the country and apply for an immigrant visa in their home country.

"They should be asked to depart the country and apply for an immigrant visa in their home country."

Would not be a big deal... oh, wait, a 10 year admissibility bar! Thanks for an easy solution.

"Establish an improved process for admitting future workers to serve our nation's workforce needs, while simultaneously protecting all workers."

I wonder who came up with that--funnier one-liner than Henny Youngman!

"settling their debt to society by paying a fine and back taxes"

Back taxes, LOL. Tax attorneys and preparers see through that one. I wonder what percentage ever owed income tax? How about pay back your Additional Child Tax Credit?

"Individuals with a serious criminal background or others who pose a threat to our national security will be ineligible for legal status and subject to deportation. Illegal immigrants who have committed serious crimes face immediate deportation."

So which is it--"subject to" or immediate? That doesn't even make sense.

"Allow employers to hire immigrants if it can be demonstrated that they were unsuccessful in recruiting an American to fill an open position and the hiring of an immigrant will not displace American workers"

Cohen & Grigsby at your service: "Our goal is clearly not to find a
qualified and interested U.S. worker...And that, in a
sense, sounds funny, but it's what we are trying to do here."

"required to go to the back of the line of prospective immigrants, pass an additional background check, pay taxes, learn English and civics"

Pay taxes again? Required to learn English. Yeah, right. This garbage is insulting.
