Steve King Thinking About Senate Run

Rate this Entry
The House's most anti-immigration Congressman is thinking about a run for the US Senate in 2014 against Democrat Tom Harkin, according to The Gazette, an Eastern Iowa newspaper. Iowa is not exactly a conservative bastion so King would be facing quite the battle. The state voted for President Obama and gay marriage is legal there. So best of luck, Congressman King.

The first indication that Boehner is serious about immigration reform is whether or not he appoints Steve King as the chairman of the House Immigration Sub-Connittee. I still think that the reform is a very long shot.

This is a great chance to get rid of him....not welcome news by republicans, but in a way they may wish this guy also goes away they way things are going and their out reach to minorities.

I think even if King and Smith remain in the house Immigration committee Boehner may just have to force them to accept the Senate version what ever that is....
