    Dear Stakeholder,

    U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Alejandro Mayorkas and other senior Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials will hold a stakeholder conference call today to discuss Secretary Janet Napolitano's June 15th Deferred Action policy memorandum.

    In accordance with the Secretary's memorandum, USCIS will begin accepting requests for consideration of deferred action on August 15, 2012. During the teleconference, Director Mayorkas will provide a brief overview of the development of the process by which certain young people who came to the United States as children may request deferred action and take questions.

    Please join U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Alejandro Mayorkas in a teleconference regarding the deferred action for childhood arrivals process on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm (Eastern).

    Highlights

    Filing Date: 08/15/2012 ok to apply. But not actually possible, new form and final guidelines will be available on that date, not earlier.

    Fee $465

    Eligibility criteria:

    o Criminal record:
    o DUI is a significant misdemeanor. Not eligible
    o DWL: A minor traffic offense will not be considered a misdemeanor for purposes of this process. Therefore, not considered a non-significant misdemeanor that counts towards the "three or more non-significant misdemeanors"
    o Only Illegals: MUST be illegal alien. TPS or visas holder are NOT eligible.
    o Physical Presence: Affidavits will NOT be enough proof.

    Risk of deportation: Requester's information is protected UNLESS requestor meets the criteria for the issuance of a Notice To Appear. In that event, they will not only share with ICE the requestor info, but also family members and guardians.
