Washington State Candidate Wants to Kill Illegally Present Immigrants

Rate this Entry

My friend Tom Roach passed on the news that Loren Nichols, a candidate for the  city council in Kennewick, WA is campaigning on a platform that even Joe Arpaio would find "out there." He wants to shoot anyone who is illegally in Kennewick or trying to cross the border. Lest you think he's just an extreme candidate going nowhere, he just came in second in a three way primary race and now moves on to the next round in the election.

If American growers are so dependent on illegal labor, would strict verification drive up prices for labor and, ultimately, produce? Are consumers too accustomed to inexpensive vegetables and fruit to accept the cost of legal labor to produce it?

Also you employ Americans we will go back to the good old days of strikes and lockouts at the farm...used to be that way back in the 1960s. I already buy Mexican produced tomatos at 99-1.19 cents a pound at a neighborhood mom and pop store and I will buy more foreign produce. US should not be in most farm business anyway...most of it subsidized by the Republicans such as Steve King and Michele Bachmann. So much for their free market philosophy!
