BREAKING NEWS: NINTH CIRCUIT UPHOLDS INJUNCTION OF ARIZONA'S SB1070

Rate this Entry

A huge defeat for the antis which will no doubt have a chilling effect on state legislatures around the country considering copycat bills. The decision was 2-1 with one concurrence and one dissent. I'll post the decisions as soon as I get them.

And Arizona will appeal this decision to the US Supreme Court (the show hasn't ended yet): wasted money, time and resources paid by the brute and ignorant populace.
Due to this type of nonsense and Congress' inability to pass an immigration reform (an IRRELEVANT institution at this point), President Obama will sing an Executive Order granting some sort of legal protection to millions of undocumented immigrants living in the United States based on certain prerequisites and requirements.

people including citizens should come ask the question to the government - reform or no reform??. enuf of wasting tax payers hard earned money wasting time on these bills from every state and the court further wasting time to reject them.

Question: What would be its implication for other states which also proposed their own immigration bills this year? For example, Utah also passed new state immigration law that allows Americans to sponsor immigrants as legal state residents, so it contradicts with Federal government's right as well. Will today's rule on Arizona law indicate the same future of Utah law?

SG that would mean smart government...I don't think that is what is going on in DC these days. The retardicans will try to take this law to the supremes is their only other move!!!

Vivian as I understand it the Utah law does not go into effect until 2013. To answer your question, yes it would suffer the same consequences of this law for the exact same reasons. But the feds won't sue Utah until the law actually "goes into effect", which will never happen just like in AZ.
