ARE MCCAIN AND GRAHAM REALLY WORKING ON IMMIGRATION REFORM AGAIN?

Rate this Entry

Apparently, Lindsey Graham and John McCain are working behind the scenes with Senator Chuck Schumer to revive immigration reform efforts. It's hard to get too excited given the history here, but maybe they know something we don't. I

There is a chance that skilled migration bills including EB recaptures might pass...but I have my doubts! The only thing that is certain to me is that we wont go the British route and cap visas for Phds (uncapped H1B) and will continue to have the exceptional ability category..somethng the Brits are trying to get rid and perhaps in the process destroy their country...already Pfizer is closing the R&D unit in Cambridge, UK and moving it to Cambridge, MA, near MIT and told the Brits with PhDs working for them..either they move to America, Shanghai or Singapore or they are out of work! But, again I ask whether the USA will take advantage of the British stupidity...or are we sceding it to Singapore and China?

President Obama will host the House GOP's three top leaders for lunch at the White House on Wednesday, likely to serve immigration buffet.

The real fight will be in the house not the Senate and I still think that the tea baggers will get in the way of any chance for a republican compromise. Either that or it will have to be a pretty ridiculous bill for them to accept it....

If they are going to do it, do it ASAP. Every single day counts. Petitioners has been withdrawing/abandoning petitions for those who chose to do it legally because it has been taking them at least 4-5 years already and no word if there is some bill being worked at to fix it.
