BLOOMBERG: DEALING WITH LEGAL AND ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS KEY TO SAVING US ECONOMY

Rate this Entry

Billionaire and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is making the case that putting illegally present immigrants on a path to legalization and making it easier for skilled immigrants to navigate the US immigration system go hand in hand and are both desperately needed if the US is going to compete in the 21st century.

Murdoch says the same thing, and so does Jeb Bush..however, very few are listening. My prediction is that nothing will happen over the course of next year!

May be if Bloomberg or NY can come up with its own immigration bill, as it has been the norm for quite some time; every state comes up with its own form.
At least bloomberg's bill will be skilled immigration friendly.

You are right. If the SG upholds the Arizona law, Bloomberg and Cuomo should come up with their own law to attract skilled migrants. Perhaps Brown in CA and Chaffee in RI along with Patrick in MA can join in as well. Perhaps they should do it quickly to force the Supreme Court's hand!

With Cans camping out in the House nothing is going to happen. In 2012, Pelosi is likely to re-take the House but the Cans should win the Senate. The 2 years of inaction will then be 4 years of inaction. It is now time for Obama to start issuing executive orders while he still has the opportunity.

Actually I think Cans will keep the House and Dems will barely keep the Senate. The only way this is going to happen is if Jeb Bush somehow becomes the President and makes it into a Christian issue...if we dont legalize as many Christians as possible, Sharia law will become a possibility..in fact some of the polygamous Mormons have their own equivalence to Sharia Law!
