ROHRABACHER PLAYS RACE CARD IN ARGUING AGAINST DREAM ACT

Rate this Entry

The media really should have picked up the truly obnoxious (and completely false) appeal to racism to convince his colleagues to vote against the DREAM Act last night:

Mr. Speaker, if this act passes, if an illegal immigrant happens to be of a racial or ethnic minority, which the vast majority of illegal immigrants are, that individual, as soon as legal status is granted, will be entitled to all the education, employment, job training, government contracts, and other minority preferences that are written into our Federal and State laws. As a
result, the DREAM Act would not only put illegal immigrants on par with
American citizens, but would in many cases put them ahead of most American
citizens and legal immigrants.

So those voting for this so-called DREAM Act are voting to relegate the position of nonminority American citizens to behind those who are now in this country illegally.

This doesn't just give young illegal immigrants in-State tuition; it provides them preference in admission.

This is a betrayal of our law-abiding citizens and their families in order to help people who have come here illegally.

I urge my colleagues to oppose this affirmative action amnesty. I urge my colleagues to oppose this horrible example of misplaced loyalties and concerns that will help illegals at the expense
of our citizens and legal immigrants.

It is not being coldhearted to acknowledge that every dollar spent on illegal immigrants is $1 less that's spent on our own children, our own senior citizens, and for all those in our
society who have played by the rules, who have paid their taxes and expect their government to watch out for their needs before it bestows privileges and scarce resources on illegals who
have not played by the rules.

This legislation not only increases the burden on our hard-pressed government
programs and services, but will give foreigners who are here illegally
preference over nonminority citizens, U.S. citizens. It doesn't get much worse
than that.

As I pointed out to my friend, blog Jack, an anti is an example of a failed human being. I didn't have to wait too long to provide an example.

Courtesy of Greg, I give you Exhibit A, Rohrabacher.

The will hold these lies until the grave with a stone cold face and tell them every chance they get...therefore giving the public an impression that they are true.

Dana Rohrbacher supports the Sharia Law. Obviously he does not want to fill this country with Christians...white skin worship is the primary goal.

So the person is a Muslim? So is Obama if you believe the 18% who think so! Since when is that a crime?

No. He is a white skin worshipping pagan or one who panders to those groups (many of whom I find on the beaches of Huntington Beach, CA every summer) and by not supporting more Christian immigration to this country he contradicts himself when he says that America should remain a Christian country...and the consequence of white skin worship and not allowing more Christians into this country is the same..the thing they fear most...a victory mosque and sharia law. One can say we need to stop all immigration..but beggars cannot be choosers...China owns our debt along with many Asian and Middle Eastern countries and since we cannot and we wont pay it back and are hell bent on racking up even higher deficits through the extension of Bush tax cuts, moratorium is not possible unless we want to go into the caves and hunt for a living (like our ancestors did in the first century Europe)..perhaps the second amendment partisans want exactly that!

If you are afrtaid of the Sharia Law legalize the illegals and get more Christians into this country...otherwise dont talk about Sharia law.

Please explain. I am for lower immigration and don't consider myself a failed human being. Nor do I think being for higher immigration makes someone a better human being. Do you? Same goes for favoring enforcement of immigration law vs. lax or non-enforcement.

Greg, while you may be offended by Rhorabacher's rhetoric, how is it false (as you claim)? Assuming they are in the same racial category, what minority preferences would a DREAM Act recipient be ineligible for that a citizen would be eligible for? Presumably it would have to be in the DREAM Act but I am not aware of such language (but admittedly have not studied it as closely as you have).

Jack, I erroneously posted a response to this post under the blog "Hutchinson Voting No....." Sorry for the mistake.
