NEW VERSION OF DREAM ACT WOULD RAISE ADDITIONAL $5 BILLION

Rate this Entry

The CBO report DREAM Act advocates have been touting reflects a net plus of $2.3 billion against the federal deficit. But that's the SENATE version that was analyzed. If the antis are right and 2,000,000 people will benefit from DREAM, the House version's new $2525 in filing fees will mean an additional $5 billion will be raised. Why, it would be fiscally irresponsible NOT to vote for DREAM!

The goal of the GOP is to cut spending, not raise revenue. They are supposedly against all taxes!

I am sure they will dismiss the economic argument since it's not working for them... or just keep on lying about it!!! Plus they will throw the "it's mass amnesty" just mud the waters!!

I don't understand why President Obama waits too long with this ongoing nonsense of passing a comprehensive immigration reform by that circus called US Congress. As president of the United States he has extraordinary powers -especially during war times- and he can issue an EXECUTIVE ORDER that should allow undocumented immigrants to put in order their legal status based on certain requirements. This can be done under the umbrella of national security and this executive mandate has the same validity as any piece of legislation passed by Congress.

@Frank W he is a democrat, that is more like a George W move...not going to happen!! But good idea...
