PEARCE AND KOBACH WORKING ON EVEN DUMBER BILL THAN SB1070

Rate this Entry

Because SB1070 is working out so well for Arizona, state lawmaker Russell Pearce and Kansas anti Kris Kobach are working on a new bll to deny citizenship rights to native born children of immigrants.

And Arizona was just named one of the worst run states in the country. Uh huh.

    Does it include legal immigrants?

My 2 cents, the Constitution is being thrown under the bus, and that's the only question you have, really?

Thanks, AV. I wanted to write "and the only question you have is 'what is the model of the bus?'", but that would be a little too Daily Show.

The earlier list is not comprehensive as there are more countries in both lists.
  8. My 2 cents's Avatar
India no longer has the automatic birthright citizenship since Dec 3, 2004 due to the influx of illegal migrants from Bangladesh.

Yeah but in this country there that 14th amendment to the constitution, not sure if you've heard but it's a pretty hard thing to change!!! Even though these idiots may just be making noise your comment seems short sided at best!!!!

AV, if you look in Wikipedia, there are at least 4-5 Europeans which modified Jus Soli in the recent past. So this isn't something new. It was just a matter of time before someone brought it up in the US.

My 2 cents, if you want to bring it up in the US, you should start with a Constitutional Ammendment, period. Constitution always trumps any local laws.

How are they ever going to get 67 Senators to say OK?
  13. My 2 cents's Avatar
I am not saying to bring it up just stating the fact that other nations have ratified their constitution on this issue. I don't think this bill will go anywhere but can't say if Rand Paul & other tea party candidates get in the senate.

And 2/3 of the state legislatures don't forget that.....

GOP-Linked 'Latinos For Reform' Airs Nevada Ads Urging Hispanics Not To Vote (VIDEO)
Univision will not broadcast ads --ThinkProgress reports that Spanish-language network Univision has reversed its decision to air ads by Latinos for Reform that urge Hispanic voters in Nevada not to vote.

    ---

A third-party group headed by a GOP operative is out with a new Nevada ad spot encouraging Latinos in the state not to cast votes in this year's midterm elections.

Robert de Posada, president of Latinos for Reform and a prominent conservative operative and political analyst for Univision, has commissioned the ads in what he describes as a response to Hispanic resentment over the failure of Washington to address immigration reform despite repeated promises.

The Dems have shot their own foot by not pursuing CIR. It's a tough lesson for the President & the Dems. I hope they change their ways after huge losses in November when 2012 comes up.

Not if Leahy is still in charge of the Judiciary Committee..which means the Dems would need to win at least WA and CA senate races!

Huffington Post reports there are 14 other states working on a legislation similar to the one in AZ.
  20. what?'s Avatar
Now they are against Birth right citizenship and if they succeed then they will come after "Naturalized Citizen", you never know with these FOLKS when they are ready to amend constitution anything is possible.

But wait recently heard Senators don't need to know Constitution go figure..
