OBAMA: DON'T EXPECT ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS TO AVOID GRIDLOCKED CONGRESS

Not that we got our hopes too high, but when you hear something like this, it's hard to argue with Latino voters who ask whether it really makes a difference whether Republicans or Democrats are in charge.

At least he is being honest! If this is bad, wait till next year. It will be really bad! I still think Rahm Immanuel is the main reason why no reform (even piecemeal) did not get through. However, Hispanics are not innocent either. Frequently they get what they want, and then switch to the GOP lured by their family values rhetoric. That is exactly what happened with GW Bush in 2000 and 2004. I thought that Rove blew it when he failed to make the unity of Judeo-Christians to push for immigration reform. But, I think I am wrong. They mostly pander to the white skin worshipping pagan whites. Defeat of Rick Scott in Florida will send a clear message that Arizona like law is unacceptable. But, although they talk up a talk against Scott, I am not very certain that Cubans will put their money where their mouth is!

When it comes to immigration, there is a difference between the Cans and the Democrats.

Not only did the Senate leader go the extra mile and attach DREAM to the defense bill but 57 (I am counting Reid as a Yes since he voted No for tactical reasons only) of the Democrats voted for it. All 41 Cans voted against it.

Some charge that Obama doesn't provide leadership but if the 60th Can vote had been there he would have provided the required leadership by twisting the arms of Pryor and Lincoln and ensured passage of DREAM. However, no amount of "leadership" will enable him to get a Can vote if they have decided to be the party of "No".

If the Hispanic voters feel they can do better by electing Cans then they can go ahead and vote Republican in November, with more Cans in the Senate they will be even further away from passing DREAM. Ultimately, people get the government that they deserve!

Now, that DREAM has failed twice, the Democrat leadership should not bring it up again until there are 60 Democrats or enough Cans privately/publicly pledge to provide the missing votes. Having had two bytes (sic) at the Apple (sic), the CHC now needs to get out of the way and provide their support to enact measures that provide relief to legal immigration.

Well I never thought in my lifetime that I would be defending Mr. Bush on anything . Inspite of all the rhetoric after Sep 11 attacks or against Saddam, I dont remember he making an anti Islamic comment or a racist comment against latinos or for that matter any other race. I am not sure if he is a homophobe or not but compared with today GOP leaders he looks like a saint.

The problem was letting Tom Tancredo and other racists defining the issue..anti Hispanic rhetoric instead of making a Juedeo-Christian argument...that indeed was pandering to white skin worshipping pagans who abound in the south and border south-west, yes including whites of southern california who vote Duncan Hunter and Dana Rohrbacher in time and again.

I rememeber something to the effect of Karl Rove getting into argument about the immigration with Tom Tancredo . After all , Karl Rove is reaping the benifits of what he sowed , Dividing not uniting.

DREAM realistically has had better chances of passing then any other piecemeal legislation. As I mentioned before, I am not in a strong agreement with attaching it to the Defence Appropriations act. I think it should be able to stand on it's own. I am not sure another immigration bill can, at least, not until DREAM is the law.

By the way, here is Jon Stewart on the whole Defence Appropriations debacle:

I do not think that the hispanics will vote republican, they will be their own worst enemy and stay home disillusioned as many people are today... yes giving republicans the upper hand as their radical base is motivated to vote.

Sure why not but let's see WHO in the congress will bring this up....????? So far the business community lobby groups are not exactly championing the issue. They probably rather outsource than to fight for Immigration measures.

I disagree is not about right or wrong in Washington with the current gridlock is about getting it done anyway you can, both parties use this tactic, is nothing new....

Illegal and legal Hispanics the latter who refuse to become citizens of the US are their worst enemies by moving into states such as Arizona and Georgia and empowering white skin worshipping pagan white people. Some so-called white districts down south and Arizona have over 20% Hispanic population, but they cannot vote due to the citizenship status. Arizona is likely to get one more seat in congress because the illegals and legals who refuse to become citizens empower racist white people. Sorry, when you start stopping and interrogating people on the basis of their Christian symbols such as rosaries or Spanish bible, you are not a Christian, but a white skin worshipping pagan masquerading as a Christian. That is what is happening in Arizona...they are not stopping people by looks but by the symbols such as the rosrie. By this definition, Jan Brewer and Sheriff Arapaio are white skin worshipping pagans masquerading as Christians. End of story!

GW at least tried for CIR.

Dems are running scared to hold a vote on middle class only tax cuts. If they dont have courage to have that debate , What is the point of they being in majority. I dont think they will have courage to speak for CIR or repeal of DADT or any other major piece of legislation. Bunch of wusses including Obama.

In his 6th and 7th year in the office. Don't forget that.

Let us be thankful that illegals are the focus. In coutries that dont have a major illegal alien problem, they go after the legals...Australian opposition wanted to reduce legal immigration. The Brits would only permit 200 skilled Americans to work in the country each year ( I wonder why we have Brit entertainers in America while we have a lot of capable Americans to take the job...of course dont expect the antis to make this an issue as most Brit entertainers happen to be white). Singaporeans (people not government) want immigration including skilled immigration to be a one way street..they like to work abroad but dont want foreigners working in their country..and a lead academic Hui Wing Tat of the National University of Singapore thinks along these lines.) I am very certain that the US government will try to restrict legal migration if they ever (I doubt they will ever) solve the illegal problem!

But Obama said ,he will introduce CIR in his first year of office. I am just asking him to make right on his word . I am not asking anything more than what he promised.

He is a politician remember, they will say anything they think will get them elected.... Listen to the promises right now!!! That is why they call it silly season, let's just get it over with....

I know house republicans are going to eliminate the deficit by eliminating the "waste and abuse" and they want to cut taxes for everyone at the sametime.

    "He is a politician remember"

I am surprised that still some highly educated supporters of Obama wants us to think he is an agent of change.

Well I would say that when you listen to the ideas of the tea baggers, you have to choose the lesser of two evils.

I can never imagine supporting to Palin or O'Donnell but thats not the point. Point is whether Obama is just another politician on which we have an agreement that he is indeed another pol.

It may be better to at least to know where one stands, rather than being cynically used as a prop.
Speaking of money where one's mouth is, at least W. burned huge amounts of political capital on the issue. Tea Partiers can be reasoned with insofar as our present system is so bureaucratized, even bureaucrats cannot stand it. It rather makes their point. Simplification of the legal entry process may need to take precedence over legalization.
'Course, like most of my Cuban friends, I am biased by having come from a really socialist country, as well as one wrecked by the appeals to racial and ethnic solidarity that creeps a lot of us GOP types out when we see some of the pro DREAM Act rallies.
