BENNETT AND HATCH TO VOTE NO ON DREAM ACT

Rate this Entry

This is really hypocritical. Three years ago, Utah Republicans Orrin Hatch and Robert Bennett voted to add the DREAM Act to that year's defense spending bill. After all, there are provisions in the DREAM Act that permit eligibility in exchange for serving in the military. Now the two are saying that the Democrats are just playing politics by putting the provision in a must pass bill.

Well we all can see that the dems are trying to motivate hispanics to get out to vote and seeking political cover for 2012, they can always blame republicans again for CIR failure!!! No chance for this bill unless they get republican votes and do that so called November strategy in the lame duck session of congress.

What a bunch of hypocrites. If they really believe in it then they should vote for it. Just because it's close to an election they won't be voting for it? Now, who's the one playing politics?

  4. Legal and still waiting's Avatar
Another Voice, maybe Bennet thinks people who have been waiting on line for a GC legally for years should first be dealt with, before people who got here illegally.
  5. Steven 's Avatar
Bennet claims its because the don't ask don't tell stuff. Really interesting that Hatch was one of the original sponsors of the Dream Act. Of course he can't vote for it, it didn't go through his special committee so he can't vote for it.
