63 ARRESTED IN ARIZONA ICE RAID

Rate this Entry

Most of those arrested were wanted on criminal charges. Except for some on the extreme end of the immigration debate, most people think this is exactly where the government should be focusing our scarce budget resources and the statistics certainly indicate that the Obama Administration has been succeeding in this area.

These folks will argue that the illegals broke the law when they entered the country without permission and hence have committed a crime and strictly from the technical sense they are right...although I will strongly disagree with their approach and tactics.

In the strict sense you are right but as it has been widely discussed in the blog an Immigration violation is a misdemeanor not a felony, therefore putting these folks in the same camp as these arrested criminals as the antis always claim is a gross exaggeration.

Wait for it folks there will be someone that will post the known anti line "what part of illegal don't you understand" love it.... LOL!!

Have you ever heard a bigger broken record than this guy? He ought to change his middle name to "Limited Enforcement Resources"! Like a good politician, he really stays on that excuse not to enforce the law as written message he's been given by the Obama administration. After articulating what sounds almost like a de facto protected status for illegal aliens save for those known to "pose a danger to national security or a risk to public safety", he writes:

Nothing in this memorandum should be construed to prohibit or discourage the apprehension, detention, or removal of other aliens unlawfully in the United States. ICE special agents, officers, and attorneys may pursue the removal of any alien unlawfully in the United States, **although attention to these aliens should not displace or disrupt the resources needed to remove aliens who are a higher priority**.

Yeah, nothing to discourage apprehension here. When field office directors and officers think they might get in trouble if they arrest, guess what they do? Not arrest in order to CYA. Just like with, e.g., Special Order 40. Mission accomplished, John.

Everyone has priorities Jack and the government will not let your folks set theirs, we know you hate that but it is what it is.... by the way deportations are up that should make you happy, although we know that you won't be happy until they deport them all, that is the silver bullet, we know, we hear you...... all else is amnesty for criminals!!!

All BS once more. Resources are a real constraint. Come out and say that you want Bush tax cuts for the wealthy to expire, you want to end farm subsidies and increase public funds for training more Americans, then you will get more resources for enforcement. Talk is cheap!

Interesting articles, but misses the main point...Christians hating on other Christians based on skin color. Arapaio (white Italian Catholic) hating other catholics (dark skinned Hispanic Catholics)...

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2010-08-17/ground-zero-mosque-controversy-america-has-disgraced-itself/

Plain and simple Mr. Beinart has to understand that GOP has a significant proportion of white skin worshipping pagans masquerading as Christians. Actually this was evident and still evidnet among many white missionaries in the Far East. Back in 1978, when I was an exchange student in the South Indian town of Madurai, an young woman was dating a dark skinned local and the parents (missionary physics profs at an American college) openly said it was not a good idea as the dark skinned guy was an engineer and if she marries him he will leave the country and it will be India's loss..oh really? Or is it plain white skin worship? Used to think they were genuine...but now I am not very sure!

Wow! ICE is searching out convicted criminals! I'll wager two-thirds of them were guilty of "designer" crimes such as driving to work without a license because the state refuses to give permission to drive. That's not for citizen safety - that's designed to create a criminal. All ythis deportation for nonsense stuff is very expense - but who cares? We'll just blame the Demos for spending so much money.

Anyone who thinks this is just about resources and not politicizing the system is naive. Top HS and ICE officials openly lobby for CIR for crying out loud. Also, if the resources are really so tight that they can't enforce the law against 90 whatever percent of illegal aliens, you would think their message might be "We urgently need more funding to more widely enforce the law." All I hear is pleading poverty and it's always the first thing out of their mouths or at the top of a memo, i.e., a political talking point.

Some politicians lobby for CIR because they dont want citizens being foreced to pay higher prices due to rising wages and then get blamed by the public. Americans want their cake and eat it too!
