After border is secure? As in - after pigs fly? Pauh-leez, the border will not be secure if the people have no option but cross illegally. There is a whole industry around illegal border crossings, and US immigration laws are feeding it.

This is pretty old. He has backed out both at climate and immigration due to pressure from his constituency back home.

If CIR is not going to tackled until 2012-2013 then piece-meal legislations such as the DREAM Act, Emergency Nursing Relief act and other bills that can't wait any longer should be now considered ASAP.

There's also no guarantee that it will even pass.

Jim, legals & piecemeal legislation are held hostage by the CHC & Pelosi can't stand up to them as evident from the past. The attitude of the lawmakers have to change in that immigration is for legals & illegals with first preference to the legals. They can set an example by rewarding the legals with some reform & send a message to the illegals.
