DUNCAN HUNTER: DEPORTING CITIZEN KIDS IS GOOD FOR FAMILY VALUES

Rate this Entry
This story was from a few days ago, but I couldn't let it pass without at least a mention. Can you believe this guy was once a serious contender for the GOP nomination for President?

Slowly but surely he is making sure that the GOP remains a minority party in CA. For a so-called conservative, he certainly espoused Marxist values regarding Dubai ports and building a wall south of the border....of course he is preaching to racist tea partiers who had minimal impact on the GOP Primaries yesterday!

Well he is sure to helping the republican party in California, I guess the dems can use this guy some more to finish the republicans off....

If the Dems dont win the Senate seat and Governor's mansion and at least retain all the House seats they hold, there is something seriously wrong with them. Ditto for New Mexico.

I have read at too many places that illegal immigrants if given amnesty will take up jobs. Are they not already taking up those jobs? How will giving them amnesty (or not) make a difference, as far as unemployment for Americans go?

They take the jobs that americans won't do....

The idea that children, especially small ones, stay in the US with distant relatives or friends when their parents are deported seems completely crazy to me. If I am deported, I am taking my children with me, no kidding. They can go back when they grow up. So yes, this is good for family values: parents are more important than countries.

hmm, nobosy is saying that you can't take your children with you (although some countries may deny them entry because they are Americans), but the question is should they be DEPORTED along with their parents. Also, nobody said "little children".

LNLW, these children are citizens, so by law they cannot be deported. They just need a legal guardian to stay.

All I am saying is that if families are encouraged to stay together though good and bad, that's family values all right, so I do not get Greg's sarcasm.

I am actually more worried about the US government trying to hold the children here, while their parents are forced to leave. I mean if the the mother is considered a criminal she cannot be trusted to parent our beautiful American kids, that is a more real concern.

I think, this country has a pretty good process for family cases, citizens or not. If a citizen child has dysfunctional immigrant parents who are being deported, I would assume the social services can start a case and find them a better home.

Now, are you telling me a 16 y.o. citizen child must have guardian to stay in the US? I went to college at 16 and moved into the dorm, so I beg to disagree.
