Hate to tell you, not many tips there.

My question is - if you are stopped for no reason whatsoever can you invoke 4th against unreasonable search and seizure and refuse to answer any questions? Their only option would be to arrest you, but assuming many US citizens are appauled by this law and go that route, it may turn into a risky proposition for AZ cops, and probably means mass lawsuits.

"Gov. Jan Brewer, a Republican, signed the bill on Friday, calling it an important step toward public safety that would help control immigration and give the police a tool to root out criminals.

She criticized opponents for not offering more solutions to problems related to illegal immigration and called the idea of a boycott "disappointing and unfortunate" at a time when the state is reeling from the recession and suffering from border-related crime that "continues to harm our economy and stifle trade.""

She cannot seem to take the heat...

Have you read the law? Do you realize that the law specifically states that law enforcement officers CANNOT do what the detractors fear might happen?

It states that a law enforcement officer cannot use color, race, ethnicity as criteria. It states that law enforcement officers must have probable cause.

If you haven't read the law, I suggest you read it before trying to fight it.

But, does not mean they would not.

Probably cause - like what? Like being a landscaper? Taking care of babies? Being a roofer? Being human? Have two legs?

How easy do you think it would be for criminals to prey on undocumented when they know that they will be reluctunt to report a crime because they WILL be asked about their documents? The same with witnesses. If you commited a crime and the witnesses are illegally present, you have a very effective way to shut them up and get away with a murder. Criminals of Arizona will love this law.

In the spirit of "driving while black", here is my list of probable causes for this law that Ted will probably find totally acceptable:
    - walking while brown
    - paying with cash while shopping
    - mowing the grass while Hispanic
    - asking for help in Spanish while in the Home Depot
    - providing help in Spanish while in the Home Depot
    - installing your own plug sparks while outside
    - playing with more than one child while on the playground
    - playing soccer while in the park
    - watching soccer while cheering
    - going to hospital while in labor
    - ordering a chimichanga for eating
