COULD ARIZONA LAW COST REPUBLICANS GOVERNOR AND SENATOR SEATS?

Rate this Entry

So far this year we've been hearing that Democrats will lose seats left and right. But some think that Arizona Hispanics, who represent one-third of the state's voters, will severely punish the GOP. John McCain has tried to appeal to the Republican base and supported the bill and all three GOP candidates for governor, including Governor Jan Brewer, have also advocated for the new legislation. Now suddenly Democrats may be competitive in both the Senate and Governor's races this November. A new poll shows that Democratic Governor candidate Terry Goddard has picked up 26 points with Hispanics in the last few weeks largely as a result of SB1070.

Goddard, may be, but either Phil Gordon or Dennis DeConcini has to get into the race to get the Senate seat.

"That may seem ho hum, but consider this: Barack Obama only won Hispanic voters in the state by a 56-41 margin."

McCain seems to have fooled the Hispanics..at least 41% of them..but then again, I should not talk, voted for the guy in the GOP primary to keep Huckabee out! So I am a fool as well although I switched and voted for Obama in the GE.

I am not surprised. I said the same thing to one of your regular readers here as well (Grace) not so long ago that McCain or JD Hayworth are not sureballs specially what happened in Mass where Sen. Brown won.

I won't be surprised as well if McCain will strongly consider running as an independent if he feels he won't win the primaries against JD Hayworth and then revert back to supporting CIR.

I simply hate McCain in an election year. Unfortunately, that has been happening a little too often.

Hopefully hispanics can make their presence felt in the polls!!!

I don't know but all these protests remind me of Tiananmen square episode. I just hope tanks do not walk the streets of Arizona with hispanics standing infront of it.

Arizona National Guard needs to be federalized by Obama!
