PHOENIX MAY SUE STATE OF ARIZONA

My guess is that Arizona's largest city is going to be the first in a long line of plaintiff's challenging the constitutionality of SB10780.

I keep hearing about Fourth Amendment issues, but isn't everything in it about detentions already legal for federal officers? Seems like more of a preemption doctrine case.

I met a white American guy at the World Bank/IMF meetings here in DC..he says thank God for illegal aliens and thank God for the US debt...I asked him why he says that...he says that if there were no illegals in Arizona Pearce will come after legal migrants and form a group such as BNP in the UK and would want to repatriate all the non-whites, whether born here or not. And then he said, had US been a creditor country, they would be trying to close the border or going on other military adventures all over the world...found it bizarre because he is white..later on found out that his wife is from the Philippines...now I can see his concern. Perhaps it is not in the interest of many people to solve the illegal immigration problem.

Let us look at the case of Singapore...the locals wanted to crack down on illegals which they did back in the 1990s..still a lot of illegals in Singapore and that is why Arizona will not solve the problem...however now that there is a perception that illegal problem has been solved..but the locals (not the government) are railing against legals especially their own kind, Indians and Chinese...pretty shameful!

The likelihood is that Graham will likely not now cooperate with the Democrats on CIR.

The Democrats pulled the public option and wasted a year trying to get Can support. In return for deleting the public option from the Senate Finance Committee , Olympia Snowe voted yes but when time came to vote on the floor she was no where to be found. On CIR, they should be smarter.

The Dems are prepared to do it alone if needed.

USC, The Cans know the momentum is building for CIR after passage of the AZ bill. Graham's wavering stand reflects the Cans position on this issue. If CIR passes the Cans would be shutout from the national stage for years & the Dems know that. AZ bill was the last straw that broke the camel's (read Obama's) back.

Graham is already looking for cover not to cooperate on either issue, if the dems want CIR they must secure and count the votes other wise this will confirm that if CIR is brought up is just for election purposes.
