GREECE ADDED TO VISA WAIVER LIST

Rate this Entry
If Greek nationals are exhausted by the economic crisis in that country (and they've still got some money), they can now come for a vacation here in America with a little more ease. They've finally been added to the list of Visa Waiver countries eligible to come to the US for up to 90 days without a visa stamp in their passport.

More countries should be added. Period.

I can't believe some of the comments on the article. If you ask me those under a Visa Waiver List are safer because they need to send advance notice (at least 72 hours if I'm not mistaken) before travel. Among the requirements to be on the Visa waiver List is for the country to biometric/e-passport compliant so that checking them out 72 hours or whatever can be easy. The Xmas day bomber could have been caught days before or if still able board a plane, the blame can be 100%
pinpointed to the US and whoever checked the advance notice.

Finger-pointing to the port of exit like what happened last Xmas day will be avoided.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Speaking of Visas....

    Look at this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/01/us/01detain.html?

Just another product of the broken immigration system.

Greece has been granted this status because Greeks are white. Why is there no African country on the list?

Same can be said of Asian countries like Philippines and Indonesia.

They are 3rd world countries like Greece as well but considered well-off than Greece.
