REPUBLICANS CONTINUE TO SPREAD THE WORD THAT THEY'RE LATINO FRIENDLY

Now the Wall Street Journal picks up the theme. Words are nice. But if you can't control the vitriol coming from the Tea Party wing and actually work with Dems on immigration reform, you're not going to reverse the damage.

In short, conservative Hispanics still perceive the GOP as anti-them. And PR campaigns aren't going to fix that problem. But promoting pro-immigration candidates, as some groups mentioned in the article are doing, is a hopeful sign.

I will believe it (at least half way), when they nominate Dan Coats over dimwit John Hostettler, and when McCain defeats the white skin worshipping pagan JD Hayworth and his white skin worshipping followers in Arizona (although I suspect due to the heat their skins may be becoming more and more Brown similar to the Hispanics they despise!)

It will take time for the republicans to sort things out in this matter, there will be a fight between the loud vocal tea Party People more anti-immigrant and the other republicans who want to mend fences with the Hispanic voters.

There will be a fight between the loud vocal racist tea Party People more anti-immigrant (not anti-illegal) and the other republicans who want to mend fences with the Hispanic voters. Only time will tell. Nomination of John Hostettler and JD Hayworth will send a clear signal that the GOP is bending to the will of racist right rather than the conservative right! These two are opposed to all forms of immigration from Mail order to brides to skilled immigration!

Heck even Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity thinks there is something wrong with the GOP. They don't even want to identify themselves as Republicans and rather would like to be called just plain conservatives.

Then there's the Governator blasting party-mates and calling them hypocrites for voting against the stimulus but begging to get some stimulus dollars and on red-ribbon cuttings and other photo-ops with big checks (from stimulus money) on hand.

All of these things may be the only good thing that the dems have going for them going into the 2010 elections, as the republicans may look to much in disarray to become an alternative. May the dems will do CIR or some sort of piece meal thing as that seem to be the only stuff that is able to pass these days.

Family values...US consulate, American and Republican style...along the lines of JD Hayworth and John Hostettler....

Then there is this new CBO report:
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100223/ap_on_go_co/us_stimulus_jobs

The easy passage of the Jobs bill in the Senate was also surprising and with 5 GOPs voting for it (including Scott Brown).

It may have been surprising to the all or nothing ( a.k.a. comprehensive reform) brigade (that includes Obama). When politicians are forced to make a clear stand on policies that are popular, they usually make the correct choice.

Finally, some Democrats realized that their immediate political future was more important than Obama's lasting legacy and they revolted against yet another flawed comprehensive bill.
