    Greg,

While not legall (it is almost impossible to legalize an illegal worker under the current law), it appears that parts of the efforts were directed to enable illegal workers to work legally in the US:
"In some cases, undocumented workers were sent home and given stockpiled visas to re-enter the country and return to their jobs, authorities said. International Personnel Resources would coach them to tell immigration officials they had never been in the country illegally, according to the 11-count federal information."

It seems that the only illegal part about the above is the fact that workers wouldn't dislose their illegal status during the interview abroad. However if they did, the would not be able to obtain visas in the first place.

When immigration reform happens, wouldn't this be exactly what federal government will be doing? It seems like no matter what illegal workers would do to legalize themselves, will never be looked at in a positive manner.
