SKILLED WORKERS TO BE ADDRESSED IN IMMIGRATION REFORM BILL

Rating: 13 votes, 3.46 average.
See, I told you. Those of you worried that skilled workers would be left out of the bill have been worrying needlessly. I've been privately told some of what to expect in the package and there is much to like. Senators Schumer and Graham get that skilled immigrants end up creating far more jobs for Americans than they cost.

Now, the Senators need to be reminded that H visas and EB immigration are closely related and need to move in lock-step. Increasing only H1 quotas is going to lead to growing queues for EB visas, unless EB visa quotas are also changed to market-based or eliminated altogether (like in most immigrant friendly countries).

    That's good to know.

The racist Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) has been holding the agenda of highly skilled immigrants hostage for a long time, hoping to get amnesty for their ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINAL friends.

    This is INFURIATING!

How can anyone compare highly skilled LEGAL immigrants with latrine cleaners, lettuce pickers and ditch diggers who do not even belong in this country?

What we need is a points based system to attract highly skilled immigrants. This must include automatic green cards after 5 years LEGAL residency. Green card should require only 3 years US resideny with masters degree. Time spent in F1 status should count towards GC.

In regards to the ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINALS, what we need is 100,000 Sheriff Joe Arpaios!

The good Sheriff of Maricopa County tries to do his job, only to have his hands tied by the Dept of Homeland Security (DHS), under pressure from the CHC.

I don't see any reason for sympathy for these CRIMINALS who sneak into this country ILLEGALLY over the border!

    Hi Sandeep

Your stereotyping reflects your biases and oversimplification of a picture that is quite complicated. While expecting people to follow the law of the land is quite natural the conversation doesn't have to degenerate into name calling and mudslinging matcg

Sandeep, even if you had any good suggestions, nobody is going to hear them behind your screaming, tantrums, and bigotry. This is not your native country. Grow up.

Sandeep you are clearly not a highly skilled nor an intelligent immigrant!!!!

I hope nobody helps your cause, if you have one indeed other than helping yourself, we do not need more haters in this country we have enough racism and idiots like you to go around. As far as the Hispanic caucus is concern, if it was not for their political pressure, immigration would not even register in the political radar. See if you and had little bit of brain and understood how DC works, you would know that political power translates into action, because that is how these people get elected and re-elected.
Therefore you ought to be thanking the lettuce pickers, ditch diggers that thanks to them and their numbers and family mebers Immigration reform will be taken up, it seems clear that with out the hispanic vote Obama would not be in power now and therefore we would not care about this cause. Compare numbers between voters of high skill immigrant countries and hispanic countries the numbers of traditional high skill immigrant countries DO NOT EVEN REGISTER....in the radar. Go back where you came from and spread your BROWN matter somewhere else!!! and let's hope you never get a green card, we need America free of people like you!!

    Sandeep,

While I know your frustration, being in a similar or worse situation, I simply cannot condone,or even understand your rant.

If you want something (and you and I do want) you have to work for it sagely and with and understanding of the system, and more importantly an understanding of the bigger picture. Reform will come when the intrests of this country are met and the larger problems associated with immigration are resolved.

Your ranting is counter productive, and it casts poor light on the rest of us. Please cease and desist.

From a bigger picture perspective independent of our needs:

    1. It is simply unaccepatble to indulge in this kind of stereotyping and hatred.
    2. What makes you think the Arapios won't come for you? They have no love for your (and my) kind. The faster you understand their underlying hatred, the better you will appreciate that all of us are in the same boat.

    Sandeep:

Based on your highly racial and derogatory rant, it would be fair for me to believe that you are a "highly skilled immigrant" and have been admitted into this country based on that visa classification.

What your comment suggests is that you somehow have a RIGHT to permanent residency. let me be very clear about this to you sir, if you have entered this country on an H1B then the intentions of the government have been very clear right from the start and that is that you are in this country to work and earn an honest wage. No where in this entire H1B process has been mentioned to you that you are somehow GUARANTEED a green card simply because of your "highly skilled status" .

I do understand your frustration with the long waiting times (i am in the same queue as your are) and would love for this queue to just disappear and me to have a green card, but I also understand the so called "lettuce pickers", as you so point them out, that most of them are here to earn a better life for their families. The economic conditions in their own countries have not provided so many of them to earn an advanced degrees to be eligible for "highly skilled". I do agree that crossing an international border is an offense, but being human makes us civilized.

Be compassionate to another human being and you will receive the same.

Your comment is just out of context and would request you to please retract.

I don't like Sandeep's hate filled rant either but I started wondering about whether opposing the policies of the CHC or the CBC would make someone a racist by default since they do represent a racial minority.

My personal opinion is that Sandeep is definitely guilty of being an elitist. If he also hates all Hispanic people (legal/illegal or citizens), then he's a racist as well.

Oh, he is not an elite at all. If he were he would be either EB1 or EB5 (Regional Center). There are many people in India who work as domestic help. If Sandeep is the kind who ill-treats them I doubt that he would qualify as the elite of anywhere!
  15. LFWF's Avatar
    USC,

"Elitist" does not necessarily imply "Elite". One can behave elitist merely on a whim!
  16. Green Card Visa's Avatar
Interesting to hear the EB5 visa discusses as a choice for the 'elite.' I had never really considered it in that light before. While it does seem to be rather limited in who can apply, I think we need to realize that this is just one variation of several employment based visas, and it is one that is really helping a large number of investors and Americans.
  17. green card visa's Avatar
Addendum: I find it refreshing to see that there is recognition that skilled workers create more jobs than they "cost." The startup visa, which is currently before congress, is predicated on exactly this idea. And yes, partially these jobs are created by the funds which the immigrating parties invest, but there is a force multiplier in play with regard to the value added by the companies they create.
