CONGRATULATIONS, MR. PRESIDENT

President Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize. Solving seemingly intractable international problems is chief on the President's foreign policy agenda. Hopefully, solving the immigration problem will remain chief on his domestic agenda.

One more thing..according to birthers he was not born in America and according to a vocal minority Hawaii's admission to the US was unconstitutional and hence he is not really an American! Sore loosers!

Also, I think this closes the issue regarding Pres. Obama's trip to Copenhagen is what sunk Chicago's bid and that it was really the broken immigration system that was the main culprit.

If they fix the immigration system and make applying for a visitor's visa less horrific or include some sort of a tier 2 visa waiver countries good only for 15-30 days visa-free stay then Chicago can make another bid in mid-2013 for the 2020 Olympics. I expect Pres. Obama to be still the US President by that time. : - )

    Congrats to Pres. Obama !!

Chicago is not on the IOC list for 2020. It is going to be Minneapolis and Boston and a long shot, Denver.

By the way, the George posting before is indeed I! For some reason, I have to retype the name again some of the time and in hurry, I type just the first name!

Thanks for the correction. Anyway, the US still needs to fix the immigration system and make applying for a visitor's visa less of a hassle to enhance any US city's bid.

With e-passports now more prevalent, they can also tie-up purchasing of Olympic tickets, flights, accommodations with the purchasers' e-passport and do the necessary security check-ups. Don't see why this can't be done or why this is not enough.
