  1. Transfer Over of unused H1Bs 2010's Avatar
    Hi Greg

Question about the H-1B 2010, there is a good chance that the quota will not fill up this year, what will happen to the unused H-1B of this year? will they transfer over and add on to the H-1B next year? or will they just goto waste?
  2. No transfer's Avatar
No transfer, unused H1 will go to waste.

I remember there was a huge transfer of unused Masters H1Bs when the Masters quota was introduced, it was transfered over to the Masters quota of next year, wonder if that'll happen next year as well.

"No transfer, unused H1 will go to waste."

Only transfer will be the transfer of jobs abroad to Singapore and Australia. Watch the Singapore employment pick up sharply a year before the American employment does. Look for Singapore to post gains in about three months, while American employment continues to decline. A significant proportion of those jobs will be from US multinationals getting around the H1B nonsense!

Off topic but thought Greg would enjoy this story entitled:

Senator Kennedy, Senator Thurmond & President Carter and how Justice Breyer made it to the SCOTUS:

Thanks USC - I never heard that story.

If you think that keeping an immigrant out means one more job for Americans and higher wages kindly think again?

"Fourth-quarter hiring plans are strongest in India,
Brazil, Colombia, Peru, China, Australia, Singapore, Costa Rica, Canada, Taiwan and Poland and weakest in Romania, Spain, Ireland, Japan and Mexico."

Very interesting that the strongest future hiring indicators at least for industrialized countries are are Canada, Australia and Singapore, countries with the most open immigration policies. I am willing to bet anything that some of these are jobs transferred abroad by US corporations unable to hire H1Bs in America. If these clowns listen to George Borjas and think that shutting out immigrants mean more jobs and higher wages for Americans, they belong in a mental asylum.
