MCCAIN: GOP NEEDS TO COURT HISPANICS IF IT HOPES TO EVER REGAIN MAJORITY STATUS

Rate this Entry
Politico reports on a McCain interview with CNN. The other interesting takeaway is McCain's indication that he'll stand firm in insisting on a guest worker program in the comprehensive immigration reform bill if he's going to work for its passage. I hope he's successful in that effort. Without addressing the future flow of immigrant workers, we'll be debating another legalization bill in ten or fifteen years.

Is funny how he is saying this yet on the other hand he has not come out to support Sotomayor, that one seems like an easy score with Hispanics, no risk she will be confirmed with his support or not!!

GOP is a party of white skin worship masquerading as Christians. Vitter, Sanford, Ensign and others are not in political trouble because they did it with white females. Had they done it with anyone else, all hell would have broken loose!

I would not consider voting for or against SM an easy score or otherwise. Also, Its not really mandatory that he do both. There is nothing contradictory to me. He does not like her judicial prowess and does not vote for her. fine but if he lets his racial prejudice ( i feel that he has almost none, except when forced for election or re election ) dictate his vote, its really sad.

The current structure of the court will not change when Sotomayor is confirmed and in the Senate her confirmation is a done deal!!!If republicans do not like her they will like less any other Judge that Obama proposes going forward, your are talking and easy points with Hispanics here!!!

If Obama is lucky he will get an opportunity sometime right before the 2010 elections!
