IMMIGRANT OF THE DAY: NEIL GAIMAN - CHILDREN'S AUTHOR

Rate this Entry

Gaiman
British-born author Neil Gaiman is having a big 2009. His new novel, The Graveyard Book, just won the Newberry Medal, the equivalent of the Oscar for children's literature. And another one of his books, Coraline, has been adapted for a new animated feature film (in 3-D!). He's also a successful comic book artist.

    Henry Selick not Tim Burton.

Thanks Erin. My mistake. I thought I heard Tim Burton's name in reference to A Nightmare Before Christmas in the ads. Must have been mistaken.

Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors. Glad to see him on Immigrants of the Day.

    Hi Greg,

Jorge Munoz is someone (refer below link) whom I feel should feature in the "Immigrant of the day".

Wow. One day Neil Gaiman writes a kids book and the next he has a public midlife crisis and publishes a vanity book of snuff / mutilation **** with his new girlfriend (bisexual rape survivor Amanda Palmer) who spends her time Twittering naked pictures of herself all over the web and auctioning off her underwear. I'm starting to think Gaiman is more of a Carnival Barker than a writer.
