Rate this Entry

There's a great editorial in the morning NY Times that I meant to link to earlier today. As always, the Times seems to be ahead of most papers around the country in terms of the depth of their news coverage and the passion of their editorial page advocacy.

"When you add the unprecedented engagement of growing numbers of Latino voters in 2008, it becomes clear that the nativist path is the path to permanent political irrelevance. Unless you can find a way to get rid of all the Latinos."

Comment: This is the ultimate goal of CIS and FAIR. Anti-immigration groups in the UK started out as those wanting to restrict immigration, eg. Migration Watch. However, several restrictionists joined BNP and want non-whites out of the UK including those of mixed race origin.

""Diversity can be good in moderation -- if what is being brought in is desirable. Most Americans don't mind a little ethnic food, some Asian math whizzes, or a few Mariachi dancers -- as long as these trends do not overwhelm the dominant culture.""

Comment: We want foreign money but we dont want foreigners. In other words we want Chinese or Japanese money invested in the US, but we dont want these investors around us! A lot of Chinese will tell you that this is the attitude of the locals in Australia and New Zealand.
