Preaching to the converted. But, we have been focusing on FAIR. CIS and Numbers USA are equally hate groups and should be labelled as such.

The antis are misrepresenting what this bill actually does. It sounds like they only support the troops when it is convenient:

"I understand that, in a time of war, the American people feel an enormous debt of gratitude to the U-S military service members and their families," he said in the House Judiciary Committee. "However that gratitude is no reason to offer immigration benefits to nearly every person related to someone who has served in the armed forces."

This week's televised debate showed how dirty delaying tactics can be played some members of the commitee. If that is not enough, here is what some anti-immigrant groups say about the bill:-

"This legislation is similar to the measure that Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) used before Summer recess to hijack debate on E-Verify reauthorization. The bill's sponsor, Immigration Subcommittee Chairman Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif), claims it would 'recapture unused employer-sponsored visas' from as far back as 1991 and then add them to the current numerical cap of 140,000 employer-sponsored visas that are available each year. Current law, however, clearly states that any employer-sponsored visas not used in one year are allocated to the family-preference categories in the following year. That means that there are no "unused" visas from past years to 'recapture.'

Moreover, these extra green cards would be for foreign workers to take engineering jobs, health care jobs, construction jobs, manufacturing jobs and just about every other job that Americans have been losing in this economy. In order to qualify, a foreign worker doesn't need more than 2 years of on-the-job training - and they aren't even required to have a high school diploma. Our country doesn't need these workers - our workers need these jobs!"

See how much misinformation these groups are spreading. SO PLEASE FRIENDS, START MAKING THE CALLS FROM TODAY. SPREAD THE WORD, LET US HELP GET THIS BILL PASSED.

Smith is a total Idiot and is sold to the big money. He wants to increase H1B cap to 195K but is against recapture. What a hypocrisy? Many of these idiots will be voted out in Nov and if the senate goes to Dem's by 10+, GOP will be crushed.

Smith and others have reason to be uneasy. Section 6 of HR 6020 is an outright amnesty for illegal alien family members of present and past service members. Also, contrary to the section title, it is not limited to "immediate" relatives of the service member, as that term has long been defined. The waiver of inadmissibility for illegal entry would also create an unacceptable inducement to further illegal immigration.

"Smith and others have reason to be uneasy."

They are uneasy about all immigration, not just illegal immigration. In 1996, Smith and another clown named Alan Simpson tried to destroy the American economy by restricting skilled immigration. Their legislation would have moved many more jobs out of the country. Luckily Spencer Abraham and Sam Brownback killed the bill. Lamar Smith, Brian Bilbray and the House Immigration Reform Caucus wont be happy until all the jobs follow the would be immigrants to other countries such as Canada and we run a higher budget deficit. For groups such as FAIR, CIS and Numbers USA that is a small price to pay to keep the country white majority.
