Why are you giving publicity to this looser?

I think it's more of a "Roll up! Roll up! Look at the crazy person! Only $1 a ticket!" kind of deal on Greg's part.

Mostly so we can all walk into the booth, shake our heads in pity, and then protect our children from seeing such terrible things.

    Exactly!

Another guy who gives lip service to training Americans over getting foreign skills but votes to gut the education and labor retraining budget in congress. Also workers are pitied by him when it involves competition from immigrants but he fought bitterly against any increase in minimum wage. A pure racist!

The whole premise of "recruiting new members to the church" implies that these people were not Catholics before they crossed the border. Guess, what, Tancredo again can't look beyond his nose.

Nah, the motive is commercial. Like any organization the church needs money to keep funding all sorts of activities around the world. Once these people are part of the US, they will eventually have a higher income thus contributing more to the church.

Except that's a pretty convoluted way of doing business. Besides, the running costs are relative to where people are based. Unless the North American branch of the Church is severely financially lagging behind the Central American branch, I'm fairly sure "donations" aren't a concern.

I'm equally sure that they're not hurting for funding either.

The church is global in scope and activities are funded likewise. Besides, here's a report pointing to funding issues.

I was being facetious. I'm well aware it's all pooled.

So, basically, you agree with Tancredo.

Remember how antis were willing to pay $3 for a head of lettuce if only they can see the illegals gone? Well, looks like it's about time to test how many in this country are actually willing to pay higher lettuce (and other produce) prices.

Tancredo is a third class person who does not deserve to be mentioned here. As someone already mentioned, why give him free publicity?

I do not know much of the Catholic Church but it is no secret that in the US the church is pro-immigrant. So Tancredo's reaction is nothing new. I wonder what Vatican thinks of unauthorized muslim immigration in Italy/Spain? That would be a good test. I googled for a few minutes but could not find any definitive immigration statements by Vatican on the subject.
The wiki article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Benedict_XVI_and_Islam#Immigration makes it sound too rosy. Not sure what to make of it.

I agree with him on the Pope's motivation. I disagree with him that it is somehow a bad thing.
