By the way, some have expressed concern that participating in the campaign could somehow jeopardize your green card application. That is absolutely NOT the case and you should not fear exercising your free speech.

Thanks for your support Greg. I urge fellow EB applicants to join this campaign. We must try every avenue to bring relief to immigrants facing years of backlogs. Please support this campaign! If you have already received your green card or are a citizen, please show solidarity and write on our behalf. Folks, we need your support. Thanks.

I am disappointed that this campaign does not rally for the other HUGE break in the system and that is the FBI name check delays...I am about to go on two years waiting for this part!

    "...he FBI name check delays..."

I was wondering the same thing but maybe there is something we do not know. IV might have discussed these with the administration already. There was some story that USCIS and FBI have come to some understanding to speed up name check.

Why would you be disappointed with the campaign Mike? IV is doing the best they can. There are other orgs working on the name check issue such as AFU and LIA. IV has also been pushing for the name check issue to be resolved. Right now, visa retrogression is the top priority for IV. It's a pity that you should be so negative about this campaign. Could it be that you are not affected by visa retrogression (e.g. EB2 ROW) but only by the name check. Should have figured....

I think IV focuses on changes that are easy to make and that have no effect on CIS workload (the exception is 3 year EADs that will deprive CIS budget from extra money, even though I wish you could just choose between 1/2/3 year EADs, and pay accordingly for the number of years).

By contrast name check problem requires considerable investment, such as hiring 500 new FBI analysts. This is not easy.

Unfortunately, the Government never volunteered to make life of immigrants easier and I do not see why this should be different this time around, so I predict nothing will happen. After all all these changes were recommended by CIS Ombuds Office, and CIS took no notice.

hmm: IV has been engaging the administration on these changes over some time now and encouraging progress has been made. this campaign is the culmination of a lot of work, and is designed to create action out of agreement... let's not give up so quickly!

Mike: name check is a different track, IV has been engaged with that as well, there have been various signs from the administration that they are serious about clearing the name check backlog. incidentally there is a good bill on the subject from Congresswoman Clarke on the floor.

please everyone...write the letter...have your friends write too..neighbors and co workers as well...also approach your employers and your lawmakers to write the letter!

It: Your accusations of negativity are unfounded. I am ROW, but support IV in the case against retrogression and have already written my letter despite the fact that I am not directly impacted by this, so I take offense to your accusation!

I was merely stating that my opinion on this not being included. And, yes there have been talks of name check reform, but thats been going on for the past three years, with little action or progress.
