WASHINGTON POST: CONGRATS TO GORE, BUT AMERICA'S OTHER NOBEL WINNERS HAVE LESSON TO TEACH ON IMMIGRATION

Rate this Entry

The Post reminds Americans why two centuries of welcoming immigration policies pay off for our country.

By the way, I'm enjoying a layover in Manila on my way to Singapore and have gotten some nice email suggestions for blog posts including this one.

Kudos to the Kauffman foundation for an excellent study highlighting what skilled immigrants bring to the table and pointing to the beginnings of reverse brain drain. IV has been using their data in meetings with lawmakers to make these points effectively. The op-ed is another example of helping to bring this issue to the fore. With the recent statement by IEEE on GC, hopefully the way is open to resolve H1B differences too so that there is no impediment to skilled immigration reform.
