THANK YOU FOR YOUR SACRIFICE…

... but we're still going to destroy your family. Sorry, but any soldier deployed overseas deserves a "get a spouse out of deportation free" card. Not only do they deserve it, but do we really want our soldiers to have to be worrying about these kinds of issues rather than focusing on protecting us? I'm glad CNN quoted my friend Margaret Stock in the article. She's doing a great job bringing these problems to the attention of the media. US Navy Petty Officer Eduardo Gonzalez's wife Mildred, incidentally, has been in the US since she was five and they have a young child. She would be a good candidate for the DREAM Act. And Petty Officer Gonzalez, by the way, legalized himself a few years back after entering the country illegally as a child. So much for "they're coming to steal our jobs" or "they're coming to leach off our welfare system."

In general, I agree. I think that in the case of our servicemen, because of their sacrifice, we should make an exception.

Fair is the most screwed up concept out there. Everybody defines 'fair' by comparing to themseves, but "comparative fair" never worked and never will be.

legal, you go fight in Iraq, then teach us on what's fair. You will see a lot of things there that don't even scratch the surface of being fair.

If you read the whole article, her mother was granted legal status. Her daughter (the wife in this story) wasn't granted it because she was married.

I understand and agree with that. Things will never be fair in the world and "fittest" will survive.

Before you teaching someone else to go and fight in Iraq, You should go and fight if you beleive so much in mission and cause.

Everytime congress makes a law dealing with special circumstances , Congress does not allocate enough resources to handle "special circumstances" which usually end up being higher number than the normal cases. The whole process of handling speical circumstances screws up the rest of the process. If you know what is 245 i , you understand what I am talking about.
