A TOWN I'M PROUD TO HAIL FROM

Rate this Entry

Okay, I moved from Louisville when I was just four years old, but I love getting back there every few years. And I grew up rooting for the Louisville Cardinals (my mom's school) and the Kentucky Wildcats (my dad's school). It's a wonderful city and this article shows that its reputation for southern hospitality is well-earned.

    Happy Day Greg!

Yes, congratulations on the actions of Louisville. It does take great leadership and it seems to me that they have it. We here in Nashville were not all that pleased with the mention of our City, as "The English Only", or "English First Ordinance was vetoed by our then Mayor Bill Purcell. He of course did the Right Thing, after our City Council passed it by a very slim margin.

With all ofthe above said we are in a much better place with 10 of the City Council members who voted for this now gone from office, and we have elected a City Council who now understands the issues at hand. In addition our New Mayor, (Karl Dean),was the City Attorney who wrote the opinion for our former Mayor who vetoed the ordinance.

We are Very Proud of our title of "America's Friendliest City", and hope to regain that exposure.

    Many Thanks,

    Tom
