OUTRAGE OF THE DAY: TWO MORE ICE DETAINEES DIE

Rate this Entry

Five deaths in week. Different facilities. All under the age of 40? Is anyone paying attention?

Today it's two young men in Texas. And two others are hospitalized. Apparently, a mystery illness has taken hold. None of the men knew each other before they arrived and all were healthy at that point.

While unlike the other deaths I've reported on where ICE and law enforcement authorities appeared to be guilty of serious malfeasance, we can't point the finger at ICE yet on this one. But the fact that this is happening obviously shows we need to be doing some serious fact finding to determine why.

Thank God they discovered this illness in detention. Imagine if those people were free walking among us with this terrible unknown illness. That's one of the big problems of illegals - there is no disease control. Our children could be the next victims. Think of the children!

wow Lou Dobs has to be given credit for brain washing so many with his awful lies. Is there anything the illegals are not responsible for? Why can't people like you go and get a real education? Cnn is not an educational channel. I am thinking of the children and worry about them because more and more americans like yourself are too lazy to research the facts and believe everyword that comes out of anti-immigrants such as Lou Dobbs.

Are you nuts, lady? They were healthy when they got to yhe detention center. Did you not read the article or my post? Considering how unhealthy the lifestyle is of the average American, I'm not sure you're in a position to lecture. If you want to think of the health of the children, focus your energy on solving the childhood obesity epidemic. We have the fattest kids on the planet who then grow up to drink and smoke to excess. And now we have the highest rate of herpes in the world so I guess you can see how our sex ed efforts are going.

She was being sarcastic. I hope the various international human rights organisations are paying attention to this.

Anon - If you assume this is sarcasm, you haven't been around this blog long enough. We get some real doosies from the anti-immigration folks. There are thoughtful posts from the restrictionist side, but we see a lot of this sort of thing as well.

Sorry for the confusion, Greg, but I was being sarcastic. This all reminded me of the leprosy nonsense.

Appreciate the clarification. The leprosy stuff was pretty obnoxious. Had I had an outrage of the day, that would surely have been in the Hall of Fame.

That comment by ivonne reminds me of the farce of the medical examinations for getting a Green Card. All these legal immigrants who have already been in the country on a temporary visa for years and years, are suddenly checked for infectious diseases. What is the point? Do diseases suddenly become more infectious if you have a Green Card instead of an H1B visa? The USCIS seems to think so...

Good point about the medical exams. The one that got me was when my wife had to pay $400 to prove that her U.S. R.N. education was equivalent to a U.S. R.N. education. And it took 6 months to get the certificate proving it!!
