AILA REPORTING THAT ANNOUNCEMENT UNLIKELY TODAY

Rate this Entry

The American Immigration Lawyers Association is now telling members not to expect an announcement today. It is not clear why USCIS has delayed an announcement, but I will report as I learn more....

nice. they will slowly push this out to July 30th, then give us 6 hours to file 485s. To be on the safe side, EVERYONE PREPARE AND FILE YOUR 485s ASAP. Worst case whatever they announce does not help you and they'll return your petition.

Wonder why we thought that USCIS will be on schedule for this one. Announcement retrogression was inevitable. They are now processing press announcements from 2004.

    Greg,

Thanks. Would you be able to check with your source as well if that is the case (an announcement will not be made today)?

DK - That one really made me smile!

Where did you see that announcement stating on AILA? The last 2pm update says "It appears somewhat likely that there will be an announcement today regarding efforts by the government to resolve the ongoing controversy over USCIS' refusal to accept employment-based adjustment of status filings."

    truly nerve-wracking!!

Imaginee tomorrow USCIS saying they will fight the lawsuit
and all 485 will be returned.........

This was just posted on Murthy.com after AILA.ORG update:
    ----------------------------------------------------
It appears somewhat likely that there will be an announcement today regarding efforts by the government to resolve the ongoing controversy over USCIS' refusal to accept employment-based adjustment of status filings. "Authoritative sources" are providing wildly varying reports regarding the content of the "fix," which may indicate any number of things, including the possibility that the government is not able to come to sufficient agreement to actually produce a "fix." AILA will post updates to InfoNet as the situation progresses.

Greg please give us your opinion on this. How likely is is that USCIS would be ready to fight a lawsuit?

The comments from murthy.com are from the morning's update from AILA. Murthy.com has very slow updates.

    Thanks
