Chinese Immigration Executives Hold Roundtable Meeting with American EB-5 Attorneys and Economists in Guangzhou
by Brian Su
As promoised I am reporting from Guangzhou China about the Invest in America 2011 (Guangzhou) Summit. The two day EB-5 themed conference and exhibition took place at Grand Hyatt Hotel Guangzhou March 19-20, 2011. The event was well attended by over 40 US EB-5 regional centers, pending regional centers, immigration attorneys, and professional services. Visitors and migration agents from all over China came to learn the latest trends of the EB-5 business, I have met potential investors and migration executives from as far as Inner Mongolia, the City of Chongqing, Liaoning Province, Henan Province, Fujian Province, Guizhou Province and other remote regions. The organizing committee hosted a roundtable meeting on March 19, for the first time over 30 migration company representatives had a direct opportunity to dialogue with EB-5 experts from the US, including Mr. Joseph McCarthy (McAdam & McCarthy principal and current legislation committee chairpeson of IIUSA), Mr. Jeff Carr and Mr. Larry Copp (senior economists from Economic and Policy Resources, Inc.), Mr. Steve Qi (Southern California immigration attorney with The Law Offices of Steve Qi and Associates) as well as Mr. Brian Su (President of EB-5 China Market Council and CEO of Artisan Business Group, Inc.). Mr. Hu Guowen, General Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Exit-Entry Services Association welcomed the US guests with warm remarks. Many questions on job creation issues, legislative concerns on the EB-5 law and immigration procedures were raised by Chinese migration agents. The dialogue was interactive and very informative for the Chinese audience and American guests. The event again shows strong Chinese interests in EB-5 program. I am hoping the EB-5 program will be extended later next year. I am now traveling with Mr. Jeff Carr and Larry Copp to Shanghai and Beijing to meet with Chinese migration executives to disccuss various EB-5 issues. I am sharing some of the Summit photos, hope you enjoy seeing them.
