ITEMS

1. Comment: Immigration Absurdity - A video produced using

animation technology

http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/11570686/discussing-perm-with-a-client

illustrates the absurdity of the labor certification process. In

the video, animated characters representing the immigration

counsel and the HR representative at the sponsoring corporation

discuss putting together a PERM case. Unfortunately, the alien in

question is an Indian national, and due to the long quota waits,

all those involved find themselves in an impossible Alice-in-

Wonderland world. While decade long waits in the family area do

not change familial relationships, employer-employee

relationships are naturally less binding over such excessively

drawn out time periods. With Congress still missing in action on

the issue, we can but view this as a work of humor, since to view

it as what it is - an accurate depiction of reality - is quite

depressing. (The original video was brought to our attention by

Sylvia Boecker.)
