1.  COMMENT

Improve Readability

Are you receiving your Immigration Daily email version garbled
and with no line breaks, making it difficult to read? This is due
to an automatic feature found in Microsoft's Outlook. To view
Immigration Daily in its original intended format using
Microsoft's Outlook 2003 version, for example, do the following:

++Go to the Microsoft Outlook Tools tab
++Select Options tab
++Select Preferences
++Select Email options
++Uncheck "remove extra line breaks in plain text messages"

Taking this step will ensure better readability for Immigration
Daily and other plain text emails. If you have Microsoft Vista
or Windows 7, you may have to follow similiar steps.

We welcome readers to share their opinion and ideas with us by
writing to mailto:editor@ilw.com.

6.  Headlines

(a) Don't Blame The Workers. Blame The Employers.

One thing that the agency would like to make clear is that it
doesn't go out and search for illegal immigrants at random.

(b) The Lonely, Illegal World Of 'Mr. Cheng'

This is his story - an inside glimpse into how one illegal
immigrant has been surviving in the city.

(c) These Two Debates Don't Mix

After promising during the campaign to fix the immigration system
with a bold and comprehensive solution, Obama has spent the first
year of his presidency trying to delay the issue and focus
instead on health care reform.

(d) Health Care Debate Focuses on Legal Immigrants

The debate over health care for illegal immigrants continues to
percolate in Congress despite the Obama administration's efforts
to put it to rest, with lawmakers in both houses also wrangling
over how much coverage to provide for immigrants who have settled
in the country legally.

(a) Dear Editor:
Exploitation in the labor sector has been going on since this
nation was found and before it was found too.  Although each and
every worker are covered with the labor laws regardless of the
status in the big factories it still goes on and the Federal
Inspector just ignore it.  The EEOC in some states do not intent
to cross the big factories and "you scratch my back and I will do
the same" goes on for many decades.  There is no let out and
worst in this economy of today.
