Google Founder Says Thanks

The New York Times
reports that Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google is donating a
million dollars to Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) which
helped him and his family escape the Soviet Union. "Were it not
for the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, there might be no Google.
Thirty years ago today, Sergey Brin, a 6-year-old Soviet boy
facing an uncertain future, arrived in the United States with the
help of the society. Now Mr. Brin, the billionaire co-founder of
Google, is giving $1 million to the society, widely known as
HIAS, which helped his family escape anti-Semitism in the Soviet
Union and establish itself here."

(a) Dear Editor:
Regarding ID Comment (10/23/09 ID): The question of whether the
person status should be reported in the census is going to deter
and true count of the population we have at this time.  This
question will defray the nonimmigrant to not be included unless
someone will convince that this is not a form to know where they
are and that by reporting it it would be for their best interest.
As it is all these raids have convince the nonimmigrant that this
is another way to single them out and to deport them eventually.
Gladys C Farris

(b) Dear Editor:
Regarding Jim Roberts' letter's (10/26/09 ID) question:  "... so
when are liberals going to stop their hate against citizens who
want less entry?"  "Liberals" don't "hate citizens who want less
entry", What we hate are the duplistic sleights of "mind" that
result in  such facile statements as the one above... and so many
others that the Jim Roberts' letters have offerred in the past.

(c) Dear Editor:
On the (10/26/09 ID) letters, the R. Algase letter believes it is
"American" to ban the free speech rights of those who have other
views, calling them "bigots". What could be more un-American? Why
is restricting free speech OK, but not entry numbers? This is
delusion (See 2nd Thess. 2). It is R. Yang's letter that gets
"more ridiculous each time we read them" being oblivious to
realities, religion and boundaries which reduces US to an
economic corporation and merely a marketplace to buy, sell and
work. Does the letter really think we are a "theocracy
dictatorship"? Is it fair competition when Chinese steal or are
given technologies from US, producing products under conditions
that would be illegal here and then given a green light to our
markets without tariffs? We need fair trade that protects US, not
free trade globalism that destroys our markets and jobs. This is
what will "reverse our trade deficits" as fully discussed in the
articles by Pat Buchannon ("Globalism and Americanism") and
Frosty Wooldridge ("Made in China: Importing America to Its Own
Death"). The S.L. letter's attempt at wit succeeds only by half.
What the letter deems my "insulting fiction" is in fact the
learned opinion of Wikipedia regarding the reasons for the
Chinese Exclusion Act, no mention of "skin color". Confucius
said, "Man who throws dirt loses Ground". To replace America's
interests with specious egalitarianism and hyphenated Americans
is truly "chutzpah".
