Nobel Immigration

A Mercury News Columnist
points out that immigrants to the US accounted for four of the
first six Nobel Prize winners announced this year--the other two
being native-born US Citizens. "In addition to Blackburn, the
other foreign-born Nobel winners over the past two days included:
Charles Kao, who was born in Shanghai, and has both U.K. and U.S.
citizenship, William Boyle, of Bell Laboratories, was born in
Nova Scotia and holds dual U.S. and Canadian citizenship, Jack
Szostak, of Harvard Medical School, was born in London, grew up
in Canada and is now a U.S. citizen."

(a) Dear Editor:
Just a reminder that travelers to Europe may face fewer
immigration checks for visits, but face greater security checks
at airports. An article in TimesOnline in UK describes what it
describes as a keister bomb, bringing to mind generations of
jokes about Mediterranean proclivities to sodomy. They also face
greater residency checks than in the United States. The massive
welfare states of Western Europe weed out illegal aliens far more
effectively than the United States' relatively unregulated
economy does.
Honza Prchal, Esq.                 Birmingham, AL

(b) Dear Editor:
My first bone to pick with David Bacon's article (10/07/2009 ID)
is its 30-year quest to make the term "illegal alien" into what
it believes is more politically correct, "undocumented people."
How nice. We are not here talking about patently unconscionable
laws, such as the Chinese Exclusionary Act. In this instance,
illegal aliens are violating laws Congress enacted to protect
American workers, though they do need to come into a 21st century
perspective. Mr. Bacon's article claims his book explores where
"illegality comes from". In a word, it comes from breaking the
laws of a nation. Self-justifying economic reasons for flagrant
disregard for a nation's laws is not a defense, because Americans
do not owe the world a better life. Contrary to Mr. Bacon's
article's beliefs, the illegality of "illegal aliens" is not a
social problem; it is a legal problem involving America's
sovereignty and its right to choose the content of its laws
without foreign interference. Contrary to the article, the word
"illegal" is not used to "demonize people and to excuse denial of
rights and second-class social status," it is used to correctly
identify a class of people who flaunt America's immigration laws
and who then seek to change those laws to suit their own purposes
by using the American legal system. The article's naive remark,
"It doesn't really have much to do with the law" sums up its
position. To a lawyer, that statement is simply preposterous.
Abandonment of the law leaves anarchy and without the rule of
law, there can be no social order. I'm afraid the article's lack
of concern for the rule of law, and its myopic focus on social
order, has hoisted itself on its own petard.
David D. Murray, Esq.                 Newport Beach, CA

(c) Dear Editor:
Excellent Article: "Comprehensive Immigration Reform and Values"
(10/06/09 ID) It was against American values to pass the E-verify
Law, ahead of dealing responsibly and fairly with the people that
had been knowingly allowed to come here for  over thirty years,
have families, legally have Bank accounts and own homes. Lets be
honest this Law was designed to starve these good hard working
human beings. I do not understand how any one with an ounce of
American blood running through their veins can stand by and watch
this happening. America needs to get back to the good Principles
that built our great Nation. We should all united and remember
the real terrorists that attacked us all. There is a forest
beyond those trees. (Sometimes we all overlook the obvious.) God
crowned our good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea!
David S. Nichols                   Gilbert, AZ

(d) Dear Editor:
Regarding Mr. Jim Roberts's letter (10/07/09 ID): Has the letter
writer thought about where he would be right now if his immigrant
ancestors had been refused entrance into the US for fear that
they would cause the "dissolution" and "destruction" of American
values? It seems to many of us that immigrants and many of their
progeny have embodied American values -- but perhaps we're
speaking about different American values!
Rachel Heuman

(e) Dear Editor:
Regarding the article ""Illegals" Of The World Unite?" (10/07/09
ID): As a Brazilian Women who does not intend to "live" in U.S.
(although, I do like, to studyand shop in there, I do love to
live in my own country, Brazil), I am pleased, to report that, I
do foresight a time, when Americans will want to come in here,
perhaps to "live" in here, and I, as an Immigrant Agent, will
come to say: "Your last option is swim through the Amazonas
River, along with the "piranhas" and "anacondas". I would
complete: "I am so sorry. But we can't take (beauty?) singles'
Americans in here, to prostitute themselves." This is not mean.
this is a customized translations of what I've heard, when I went
to the american consulate in Rio de Janeiro, and begged for a
temporary visa, to learn American English, as an International
Relations Bachelor's, even proving that my family was able to
afford all financial needs. This regard me the movie "The Day
After Tomorrow." But, don't take me wrong. We, Brazilians, take
no rage. It's only my acid humor. (... well fed by your
immigration politics).

(f) Dear Editor:
Regarding ID's Comment (10/7/09 ID) and my "letter" (10/7/09 ID),
Sheriff Arpaio was not so much "defiant" as he was speaking the
truth when stating that he did need the Feds to enforce entry
laws just as he does not need their permission to enforce bank
robberies or kidnapping, both Federal laws, by reason of State
sovereignty. A Google of: "Local Law Enforcement Has Authority to
Enforce Immigration Laws" yields a plethora of articles including
a couple of cis backgrounders on this topic.  The 287(g)
provisions that "allow" local law enforcement to enforce entry
laws are analogous to concealed carry permits which is already a
Constitutional right. CCW and 287(g) programs are set up to usurp
regulatory control and in operation, acts to limit the broad
authority for political reasons. The radical ethnic groups,
Globalists and plantation profiteers, etc. just don't like any
entry enforcement and have agendas. My letter of yesterday was
sent to ID as a suggested article to feature and not as a letter
to the editor. The article was deleted and without that
perspective, tends to leave an extremist position. The article
is: "How Immigration and Multiculturalism Destroyed Detroit" by
Frosty Wooldridge which tells of his 20 years of living there and
seeing a severe decline, dissolution and "separation from
America" which really is extreme.

  1. Brittancus's Avatar
The doors are covertly opening again to another illegal immigration invasion. We now discerned that religious organizations are trying to use their congregations as a fulcrum to apply president Obama's Immigration reform package. It's in my mind that just people of the Baptist faith like myself, who are ardent worshipers, but whoever live in the stark veracity of real-time. Many are aware of the dangers of leniency for lawbreakers, that will be even more magnified by not only those already here, but the destitute restless people waiting for the--AMNESTY--bell to clang? It's utterly irrational to expect that millions more will not tear across our borders? Yes! They will greatly benefit, but what about the 15 million jobless Americans?

There is no possible way Citizens and legal residents can compete in this deep recession, against the poor of other countries? An avalanche of the young and old that will devour billions of more dollars from government handouts, to not only clothe shelter and feed them, but the illegal laborers wages partly transferred abroad? Churchgoers may think they are doing god's work, but what they are actually doing is stealing the bread from American children's table, low income families lifeline of paying for gas to get them to work, pay for an apartment? The magnet of course is the inevitable abhorrent businesses, who will solicit for minimum wage illegal aliens to build on their profits. THIS IS WHY WE MUST DEMAND NATIONWIDE E-VERIFY! A COMMITMENT FROM THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO MAKE IT MANDATORY FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS A JOB, TO BE VETTED. THAT NOBODY SHOULD BE EXEMPT. PENALTIES FOR NOT UTILIZING E-VERIFY, SHOULD BE EXEMPLARY? WE ARE TALKING ABOUT AMERICAN LIVES IN TURMOIL, BECAUSE JOBS ARE BEING STOLEN BY ILLEGAL WORKERS.Its operation will draw to the surface illegal labor who should not be here. We should inform ICE of anybody hiring illegal immigrants or you have suspicion of underpaid workers. My church pastor on the outskirts of Indianapolis has been playing on the congregation's sensitivities, but the good man was unable to answer the torrent of questions?

Least of all myself, who explained how the Council of Foreign Relations has been planning for years, to incorporate Mexico and Canada with ourselves? Or that the ACLU was founded by a communist or that groups like the Southern Poverty league was substantially financed by the business community, to undermine the reputations of anti-illegal immigrant groups. That even the radical ethnic caucuses such as La Raza was furnished by grants from our own government or corporate concerns. That in actual fact--WE--are paying the price tag as taxpayers for our own downfall? Unless a large majority of the population yells down the phone-lines at 202-224-3121 this nation will become a balkanized society?

This country was built on the strength of one language, one Judeo-Christian culture. Multicultural societies usually collapse, as in the Middle East. Even in the developed countries of Europe, their is a tenuous unsettled calm that will erupt finally over both legal and illegal immigration. Even America cannot support millions more people in their vehicles on eroding highways and surface streets. Our infrastructure has been blatantly ignored for years, bridges in urgent disrepair. We remain mostly alone in fighting foreign wars and other countries are telling us, that the dollar is unlikely to be the main trading currency. Then we have programmed political idiots we elected telling us, we need to pass a path to citizenship for the 20 million plus unfortunate peasant who illegally crossed our border.

WHERE IS THE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS COMING FROM TO SUPPORT THE POOR PEOPLE OF THE WORLD? THE TAXPAYERS POCKET OF COURSE? My faith is very important to me, but that doesn't mean I'm going to commit financial suicide. Let these illegal aliens get there own governments in order, and not take from us? The Urgent truth can be found at NUMBERSUSA. Read about the corruption in Washington at JUDICIAL WATCH. CAPSWEB for the truth about OVERPOPULATION. BE REST ASSURED THAT THE PEOPLE WHO ARE EXPECTED TO BE GUARDIANS OF ALL AMERICANS, ARE IN ACTUAL FACT THE PUPPETS OF THE BUSINESS CONSORTIUM'S AND SPECIAL INTEREST LOBBYISTS.
