Make Sure You Get It

Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are combating spam through a
variety of filters and blocking software to trap emails before
they even reach one's email inbox. The upshot is that many ISPs
are incorrectly categorizing legitimate email as undesired and
preventing these emails from ever reaching your inbox. If you are
experiencing email delivery issues, your ISP may have blocked
Immigration Daily delivery. To reduce the chances of this
happening to you in the future, please add Immigration Daily
(editor@ilw.com) to your email program contact list, mark the
email as "not junk" or add it to your "white list"--whichever is
applicable. This lets your ISP know that you want the email
delivered and reduces the chance of it being blocked. In spite of
this, If you do not receive your Immigration Daily issue anytime,
please contact the customer service of your ISP to report the
problem and let us know of the problem by writing to
webmaster@ilw.com.

We welcome readers to share their opinion and ideas with us by
writing to mailto:editor@ilw.com.

(a) Dear Editor:
In response to Janis Peterson-Lord's criticism of the ID editor's
comment (09/11/09 ID) that "most Americans are thankful that Al
Qaeda has not struck again," I will name some who most likely are
not thankful. For one, Southern California born Adam Gadahn, the
self-described American al Qaeda who threatened to kill thousands
of his countrymen in 2004. Another, Daniel Maldonado, native born
American from Massachusetts, now living in Texas, who converted
to Islam and went to Somalia following the call to jihad to fight
for the African Taliban. Another, Shirwa Ahmed, a 27-year-old
college student from Minneapolis, who in October 2008 became what
the FBI called "the first known American suicide bomber" when he
blew himself up in Somalia, killing dozens. Two others may be two
men, identifying themselves to news reporters in April 2009 as
Abu-Muslim and Abu Yaxye, who said they are "Somali youth" from
the US, reported to be stationed near the city of Kismayo, more
than 300 miles southwest of Mogadishu. Are there other Americans
who are "thankful that Al Qaeda has not struck again."? One can
only apply logic and the ID editor's comment is correct. In
support of Jim Roberts' letter of 09/11/2009 ID, criticized by
Robert Gard for its statement, "that there is no actual way to
make that which is illegal, legal," I believe Mr. Roberts' letter
should be taken on its face, literally, while Mr. Gard's
observation relies on loop holes in the law that avail themselves
to illegals. However, the bell cannot be un-rung and the fact of
their illegality cannot be erased, even after legalization. As
such, they are not "transformed" into legal, they are merely
forgiven. An "amnesty," if you will.
David D. Murray, Esq. Newport Beach, CA

(c) Dear Editor:
Regarding R. Gard's letter of 9/29/09 ID, commenting on my letter
of the previous day:* 1.) The "tens of thousands of immigration
lawyers" is prima facie that entry is out of control regarding
numbers and a stabilization moratorium is needed.* 2.) Commenting
on the legal/illegal issue is* diversionary considering my
letter's theme.* 3.) That said, the raised issue could be
elaborated further.* Using a contemporary example, the film
director, Roman Polanski after many years, has been arrested for
the statutory rape of a 13 year old girl and is in the process of
being extradited to the US for trial.* Regardless of the outcome,
nothing can change the fact that the illegal act took place, even
a change in the law as it was still illegal at the time. Even
Divine forgiveness upon repentance can not change this fact. It
is only the context upon which an illegal act is viewed that can
change.* If the law is changed, only those after that would be
legal, even if the changed law was wrong or unwise (which does
not preclude Divine or Natural laws or effects).* It would be
unwise for society to remove the law that protects young girls,
just as it would be to grant illegal aliens amnesty in any form
as either would promote activities deemed harmful to our society.
Only* irresponsible, myopic, self-centered persons with special
interests contrary to a well ordered society would attempt to do so.
Jim Roberts
