Joel Stewart on PERM Labor Certification

PERM: Current Problems and Solutions!

Rate this Entry

The PERM Workshop in Nashville was a great success, and the credit goes to the excellent faculty that participated in the presentation which included detailed discussions of current PERM problems.

My thanks to the attorneys, Robert Banta, Atlanta, GA, Blake Chisam, Washington, DC, David Ware, Metairie, LA, Kirsten Kelly, Vancouver, BC, Michael Piston, Troy, MI, and New York City, Ed Rubin, East Brunswick, NJ; Lawrence Rudnick, Philadelphia, PA; Rohit Turkhud, New York City, and Kiran Vairale Mumtaz, CEO of Adnet Advertising Agency, New York City.

The Workshops are always highly interactive, to provide everyone with a dynamic learning experience -- faculty and students alike!

The focus in Nashville was on current problems, including second preference options, exceptional aliens and advanced degrees, roving employees, and advertising and recruitment guidelines, audits, supervised recruitment, requests for reconsideration and BALCA appeals.

In addition to the PERM Book, participants received updates to the PERM Rule and policy guidelines, such as FAQ's, Stakeholder Meetings, DOL Memoranda, and BALCA decisions.

In Blogs-to-come I will refer to the issues raised by these speakers.

Many thanks also to Sam and Shrikant from ILW.COM, as wekk as to Paul Ruby, attorney for ILW.COM. Shrikant was in charge of logistics, while Sam and Paul gave on-site support to our team.

The EB-5 Workshop was run simultaneously with the Perm Workshop, and both provided quality, interactive learning experiences.
