Matthew Kolken on Deportation And Removal

Obama Administration Keeping Our Borders Safe From Elderly Cruise Passengers

Rate this Entry

The Daily Mail has reported that elderly passengers aboard a P&O luxury cruise ship based out of the United Kingdom were subjected to a seven hour security check upon landing in Los Angeles, California.  The passengers had both hands fingerprinted, they were required to submit to retina scans, had detailed passport examinations, and were subjected to overzealous interrogation.

The passengers were forced to stand in high temperatures for hours with no food or water, and were refused access to toilets.  When asking to use the facilities, immigration officials allegedly responded: "Do it over the side, we won't mind."  Prolonged exposure to the severe temperatures caused some of the passengers to pass out.

Elderly passengers report that the measures were taken by "spiteful immigration officials" in retaliation for comments made about the overzealous tactics employed.  Ironically, the passengers had already cleared inspection at U.S. based ports without incident on 10 separate occasions prior to landing in California .

A 60-year-old retired dentist wrote to the Captain of the ship stating: "We are holiday makers, here to try and enjoy ourselves - we are not potential inmates of Guantalamo Bay, and should not be treated as such."

Keep up the good work fellas.

I don't understand why they have to do security checks to these elderly people. They should be ashamed.
